Huffington Post     First Posted: 11/17/09 05:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 03:05 PM ET

It's that apple and honey time of year again. Starting Friday, Jews around the world will gather at their families' homes and toast to a sweet new year.

We want you to share with the HuffPost community how your family and friends are celebrating the holiday. Whether you live in New York, Tel Aviv, Cape Town or anywhere else, send us your photos of what makes your celebration special and/or unique.

The HuffPost will feature the best photos on our site. We will look for images that capture both the spirit of the holiday and the community in which you live.

Please include a caption with information on who took the photo, where it is and what is happening.

(Note: please only send images that you have the rights to or are not copyrighted.)

Here's how it works:

Hit the participate button, leave your description and mark the location of the Rosh Hashanah celebration by searching for an address in the box on the top right of the map, upload your photo and hit submit. Thank you!

Deadline: Sunday midnight EST.

Huffington Post should correct the first picture because Jerusalem is not recognized by the world countries and the United States as Israel's capital. You could identify whether that is West or East Jerusalem if you support peace in that land. Otherwise,

Israel is the only country whose capital, Jerusalem, is not recognized by the world.

why don't you give it a rest?

Thanks! :)

Yeah, that's why the United States owns a nice chunk of land in Jerusalem that the new embassy is going to be built on after final-status negotiations with the Palestinians.

Jerusalem is the holiest site in Judaism the eternal capitol of the Jewish people, and the current capitol of Israel -- and your whining isn't going to change that.

Why even bother to try to have something postive about Jews or Israel? You know you'll just get the usual postings against us. This has been going on for thousands of years so it's really nothing new.

Oh come on. There are plenty of us (non-Jews) out here who are interested in all cultures and truly enjoy seeing pictures like this. Who cares if it is nothing new? It's still enjoyable to see photos from around the world of people from all walks of life observing and celebrating a holy day.

I agree. Not everyone will post negative. I'm glad these photos are here.

Because of bigotry, envy and ignorance

Because of Intolerance, brainwashing and scapegoating.
