That means bacteria are getting more accustomed to the antibiotics. There's good reason to think that this background exposure to antibiotics is contributing to the startling rise in antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

I don't expect any strong legislation will ever survive that will make meat safe to eat. Best to just say "no" when it comes to meat -- unless you can find an organic, grass-fed, non-factory source.
