“We expect more canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing, but not swimming,” said Rob Sulski, a project manager for the agency. “No one is advocating swimming in that waterway.”
Canoeing, but no swimming? Huh...Chicagoans must be a WHOLE lot better at getting into and out of a canoe than I am.
To be honest, no part of the Chicago river is safe for swimming as far as I know. Matter of fact, whenever the police or fire department divers have to go in the river they usually go to the hospital afterwords for an antibiotic shot.
