I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan described President Obama's decision to go on five Sunday shows in one day as "boorish" -- in a Sunday show appearance of her own.

"He's doing it because he can," the former speechwriter told ABC News host George Stephanopoulos. "The media environment allows a modern leader to be something subtly damaging, and that is boorish. They get their face in your face every day all the time. It's boorish and it makes people not lean toward you but lean away from you, no matter what the merits of the issue."

I'll tell you who's boorish and unrefined: Peggy Noonan, herself. A few years ago, I lived in the same Brooklyn neighborhood where Noonan's elderly mother lives. And I won't give the details of her mother's living situation, out of respect for the mother. You'd think that if miss Noonan truly embodied decency, or at least had a kind bone in her body, her mother would not live almost destitute. That goes to show you that the so called journalist, conservative, only values conservative ideas when it comes to money, not when it comes to family.

Noonan is only cogent a limited number of hours a day to make her silly pronouncements. Does she walk to the package store or do they deliver?

A week later and I am still upset about Peggy's comments. Whether it was "borish" or "boorish", it was inappropriate. I suppose she would rather have her and the Wall St Journal or maybe Rush Limbaugh or Glen Beck giving us the news rather than the source. This way she can spin the news any way she wants. Or, perhaps she feels left out that Pres Obama didn't ask her to write his speeches as she did for Pres Bush. The bottom line is that the American public deserves to hear from the President and often since he works for us. Peggy works for the WSJ....what she does is marketing...she has no incentive to give us the truth!

what a condescending, schoolmarm-like piece of work...for all those years of sticking up for Bush's media tours without saying boo is extraordinary, considering Obama is at the VERY least a great public speaker, unlike Bush...

We need more than someone who can speak other peoples words eloquently.

Obama's Media Tour is Genius! Simple and Genius. You know it's genius by the number of right wing n ut jobs that keep criticizing him. They cannot stand the fact that he is getting his message out WITHOUT the spin. It's driving them crazy. They are using terms like "he jumped the shark" etc. He is doing what he needs to do. He cannot trust the media to do credible reporting. They just want to talk about death panels, so he will delivery his message himself. Brilliant.

That's just the point. Listening to Chuck Todd explain things is a waste of time, and these news organizations seem to be quite unwilling to actually let the man speak for himself-- or anyone else for that matter. They're overly reliant on their in house people as a buffer between the expert and the broadcast.

It's why I stopped bothering watching the news. It's pointless when you can just read it online and crosscheck your sources. I wish the internet were putting TV journalism out of business rather than endangering print journalism, personally.

I think the web is effecting all so called journalism. They can't get away with sloppy reporting as much anymore. They get called on it for all to see.

You are a wise person. Network news is going to go the way of the newspaper - into oblivion. I can't watch anymore. For 8 years they looked the other way and gave W a pass on everything. If you know where to look on line - AND (important), you look a lot of different sources, common sense will show you the truth. ABC, NBC and CBS are too far gone.

No genius - more like desperation. Obama is still on the campaign trail because he loved the adoration he was receiving when he was running for office before so many people were on to him. He goes out and gives endless cookie cutter speeches because he doesn't know anything else to do. His incompetence is showing.

He's attempting to cut through the bullsh%$# rather than insulate himself from it unlike the last president. He is desperate--desperate to counter all of the ridiculous lies that the right wing party of no is spreading like manure over the ignorant trying to grow a grass roots revolution. Looks like they got to you.

* the republican party
* the party of NO
* the party of NO NEW IDEAS
* the party of phony family values
* the party that let N Y get attacked under their watch
* the party that spys on it's own citizens
* the party that "outs" CIA agents and the guy doesn't serve a day in jail
* the party of fear & smear
* can I stop now? My fingers are tired. Let me rest and I'll list some more later.

...on to him... my stars!

We don't care what a rich elite woman says. Her opinions do not matter to working america. She is unimportant to us why continue promoting these people and shoving them in our faces and livingrooms? This is why the internet is a gift. She's a nobody who's done nothing for the american people. The US Media has their fake royals on tv. Even real ones are nothing more than people who controlled others.. why glorify them as if they are important to humanity?

During the elections Peggy Noonan remarked on how inept Palin was but that she would be voting for her and McCain anyway, so now who cares what she has to say , she is not coming from a point of fair and balanced.

Noonan's got a lot of nerve calling someone else a boor. I'd rather listen to fingernails on a chalk board than her slow, painful attempt to cobble together her pseudo-intellectual thoughts into meaningdul sentences. I'm surprised to hear she's still alive - and someone's still listening to her. Why?

Do you notice that both Lou Dobbs and Bernard Goldberg have the same problem. They spend so long trying to put their thoughts into clear sentences and often fail! I find it shocking the way Dobbs tries night after night to tie up the end of a segment in a rhetorical bow and ends up in knots of disconnected information instead. And Goldberg always has that pained look on his face as he tries to explain to O'Reilly or Hannity that certain "Je Ne Sais Quois" of a thought that he never can seem to put into words but it's ok just as long as he uses the term "liberal" or "left" or "dan rather" in a pejorative sense!
