Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck thinks President Obama is better for the country than John McCain would have been, he said in an interview with Katie Couric to air at CBSNews.com Tuesday evening.

"I think John McCain would have been worse for the country than Barack Obama," Beck told Couric in the debut episode of her new web show, @katiecouric.

Beck's comment came in response to Couric's question about Hillary Clinton, who Beck said he may have even voted for had she been the Democratic nominee against John McCain.

"I can't believe I'm saying this," Beck said, "I think I would have much preferred [Hillary Clinton] as president and may have voted for her against John McCain."

He described McCain as "this weird progressive like Theodore Roosevelt was."

The full interview airs at CBSNews.com Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Glenn Beck couldn't stand in the shadow of a mummified Teddy Roosevelt without crisping to a cinder from the heat of sheer american manliness only Teddy's shade could produce! Theodore Roosevelt's mustache could beat the holy hell out of Beck! Beck isn't american enough to wipe the sweat from old Ted's nether dangly bits much less criticize him! We are talking about a president who always carried a firearm, had a lion and bear as white house pets, rode 100 miles by horseback , from sunrise to sunset at 51 when calvary soldiers complained about their daily 25 mile rides, knew jujitsu, and was shot during a speech and continued to give it for almost an hour with a HOLE IN HIS CHEST!

Glenn Beck is a fraud, and a cry-baby, and can't even give a straight simple answer to a straight simple question posed by (of all people) KATIE COURIC!

Glenn Beck is a radical Libertarian. All you Authoritarians ever know is Republican and Democrat. Whether you like it or not Beck presents valid arguments.

Why does anyone even pay attention to Glenn Beck? Even worse than so many other pundits, what are his credentials to be a commentator? He spreads Hate, has his facts all wrong, fabricates stories and tries to instill fear in uninformed people. Really! What are his credentials? Does he even have a college degree?

Really Katie & CBS....really? Glenn Beck interview? Struggling for programming ideas?

The cable and the remote were invented for moments like this!

Glenn Beck is a highly talented orator. He is also manic-depressive and an alcoholic.

He will say one thing to gain approval, and then say something completely incendiary to incite others to report on what he said so his microphone is bigger. This is commonly the difference between typical punditry and professional punditry. He causes people on the other side of the political spectrum to feel strong emotion, thus expanding the reach of his voice.

He is a rising star in Murdoch's propaganda empire.

Beck plays for approval. He apparently doesn't have his own ideas, ... only a desire to feed cookies and milk to his audience and tell them what they want to hear so they will like him.

Mr B almost had me convinced on the Couric interview that he's a good guy. Keyword being "almost".

So maybe Glenn was showing his egomanicial side here and just gathering more publicity. Does he even know what he himself believes?

FREEDOM OF SPEECH...counts for everybody.

Maybe Beck's motto is "keep em confused" then they won't know what you really think.
He was already savvy to how Couric does her gotcha interviews so maybe he was giving her "something to talk about".

Couric does "gotcha" interviews? You're crazy. Asking Palin what she reads is gotcha? That's too tough a question? Come on.

Beck is simply nuts. He caters to every audience, then lies to cover himself down the road. A truly dangerous man because so many uneducated right wingers believe in him.

This is a post-castration Beck interview. Clearly, he's much more tame, but still full of
delusions, and fantastical outbursts. I am writing to his sponsors and letting them know that he's
still a dangerous fool, and I am not buying their products if they continue to support his shows.

I am not in any way a John McCain fan. But I would advise him not to be the least offended by Glenn Beck's comments. Anything that Beck thinks is irrelevent, ill-conceived and, more than likely, insane.

He really is crazy if he thinks John McCain is like TR. Teddy Roosevelt was the last truly great Republican President (not that I have anything against Ike). No wonder Beck badmouthed him.

Didn't Beck just misquote Teddy about a week or so ago? "Walk softly & carry a big stick"

Heh. Phool....

I think he deliberately misquoted teddy, because for a whimp like Beck to give the actual quote, he would likely burst into flame....right on the spot.

My husband and I watched his show last night to see if he would explain himself, he did. And if this came from anyone else I would be shocked, but nothing GB says shocks me anymore. This is what he said.

He said that McCain is a progressive and that he too would pass cap and trade and other legislation that went against the principals of the conservatives. He said that if McCain did that, no one would be up in arms about it, no one would march on Washington and that would be a bad thing. So do you guys get what he was saying? He was saying that the "Americans" who are protesting across America that Obama is a nazi, socialist, and killer of old people would accept all these changes IF it were McCain making them. Now I ask, why is that?

Oh and the only ads we noticed were for insurance companies, a conservative magazine and lots of ads about buying gold.

Oh yeah? Well the ad that jumped out at me was the Humane Society commercial RIGHT BEFORE the segment where he boiled that frog...anybody else see that? It was the 2 a.m repeat on PA Comcast...made me giggle, but then again, i have a pretty dark sense of humor.

Honestly did not notice that but I watched the earlier showing. He said the frog he threw in was fake, I hope he at least was honest about that.
