Obama Letterman

By the time Barack Obama appeared on stage today to tape an interview with David Letterman, the "Late Show" host had already offered 10 reasons why he'd agreed to do it:

10. Heard the lady with the heart shaped potato was gonna be here.

9. Thought it would be fun to watch someone else get heckled

8. Something to do with that whole cash for clunkers deal

7. Every president since Teddy Roosevelt has done it

6. Someone offers you 600 bucks you take it ladies and gentlemen

5. We told him Megan Fox would be here

4. Needed some time to hang out before check in time at his hotel

3. I have no idea

2. Said yes, without thinking, like Bush did with Iraq.

1. Wanted to congratulate Dave on the big Emmy win.

Clinton is on dave tonight, and he was great, said some really moving things..Obama was superb last evening...
i cried and left my office when Bush stole the end election, and i shook in fear when he was in Europe, looking at a display of axes...he actually said, now do you see why we call them evil???
HE ACTUALLY THOUGHT AXIS OF EVIL REFERRED TO REAL AXES---THAT'S WHEN I KNEW IT WAS FAR WORSE THAN I FEARED--I REALLY FEARED THE END OF THE WORLD WITH THAT LUNCATIC AT THE HELM....

OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!!

I am constantly amazed with how intelligent President Obama is...he knew the facts, the situations we're facing, the numbers, has comedic timing, and even looked like he was enjoying himself. Everyone doesn't have to agree with everything he says/does, but he sure seems like a guy you could sit and talk to about anything...

Proud of our President!!!

11. We wanted Joe Wilson to throw his white hood at the television.

12. It would be funny to cause the teabaggers and racists to have tantrums before bedtime.

13. Now the insurance industry will have to revamp their scare tactics.

14. So we could laugh outside the Fox "News" emergency meeting for new spin and propaganda the next day.

15. To inspire Sen. Larry Craig and Pastor Ted Haggard to have a wide stance in front of televisions.

President Obama should get credit for not taking himself too seriously and going on a popular show where he can explain his decisions to a crowd that might not, ordinarily, pay attention to a press conference or townhall meeting. David Letterman should be credited for having more gravitas in a serious interview than most of the bubbleheaded "journalists" on TV today.

I am simply amazed at how ignorant all of you are being. You are all sitting on his band-wagon. Really look for news some where else besides here, CNN, MSNBC and even Fox and you will see that maybe, just maybe you are wrong. How is it that so many people are starting to realize that he is not right this job? Not saying McCain would have done better because I'm sure he wouldn't of, but Obama? Come on people and wake up. This is not a race thing either, I hate that when you disagree with him and what he stand for it becomes a race thing, that just shows you what this country REALLY has on it's mind. I know this will also be flagged because of the people that can't take someone being honest about him and actually not for him. For all of you that say, oh he had a lot to clean up and he did great on here, Bush had a lot to clean up when he started, ALL PRESIDENTS DO!!! Why in these current times is he spending so much time in front of cameras when he should be doing his job and not messing around like he is. He had no right going on this show or any other, if Bush would have done this exact thing, you would all be on here complaining about it and you know it. You asked for him you got him, good luck with that.

We did not ask for President Obama, we demanded him with our votes. Your statement that "Bush had a lot to clean up when he started" is so totally lame, Bush inherited the biggest surplus in US history, and by the time he left office it became the biggest deficit. Give me a break.

Think perhaps a REAL reality check is in order if you even have a twinge of an inking that should we have been stuck with the likes of Mac & P the situations would be better--indeed they 'd be far worse by now especially afte rthe messes the Bush brigade left on the table for others to clean up !! Think in part the GOPers actully realized what a mess there was and deliberately uput up Mac & P figuring they would NOT succeed in garnering the top titles --It IS a woeful time and and so much being shoveled to strictly BLAME the Dems and Obama for what happening but worth noting, the GOPers have YET to actualy put orth ANY VIABLE SOLUTION TO ANY OF THE PROBLEMS and instead just whine away as they attempt to regroup. They are savvy in letting their fringers have center stage--able to keep the GOP coffers flled but make no mistake, they are are still skating and figure the worst of all this will be labled ALL due to Dems/Obama and they figure THEY will then be able to ride back in!! They are counting on national, coast to coast ADD syndrom, along with their expertised spin/propgandic machine, they figure n easy winback in the future .

Please enlighten me on what Bush had to clean up when he started---I must have missed that bit of news.
To say that President Obama is "spending so much time in front of cameras when he should be doing his job and not messing around like he is."
I will repeat again---Bush spent over 1000 days during his 8 year Administration at his Crawford ranch while our military men and women were dying in 2 wars that were based on Bush's lies.
I would add that Bush did not do talk shows, because he did not want to be asked questions he had no idea how to. Please. You never noticed in his 8 years that he would only speak to a forum where hardly any questions were ever asked to him or at fund raisers. Bush said at an $800 a plate dinner, "This is an impressive crowd - the haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elites; I call you my base."
What a guy.

I was waiting for someone to point out that Bush spent more time on vacation than any president , ever .

He holds the record.

Thanks for saving me some time, and by the way 1000 days is almost three years.

They make tons and tons of money on war. Especially the Iraq war. I wonder if anyone truly knows how much money was made by Bush and Co.

The extra kool-aid, and free healthcare, is being paid for Iraqi's to enjoy. By our tax dollars of course. Thanks President Bush.

I also voted and worked for Obama. Watching him at these kinds of shows only tell my why I did once again. He takes the job seriously......but not himself, and being a Leo also, I can say.....We do that well, Mr. President.

He's not overexposed. He respects the peoples right to hear what he has to say. Plus, he is so terrific that the majority of us WANT to see him. I loved him on Letterman. The rest of the shows, he was great, but the interviewers all asked the same thing in the same way. They were unimaginative, while President Obama was classy and wise.

Pres. Obama understands that many voters are very confused -- especially the elderly. He also knows the depth of the lying and ulterior motives they get from their own congressmen. He is doing a great service by clearly explaining the issues in person, dispelling the untruths out there, and reassuring the uncertain voters. People have come to put a lot of trust in him. He's not a perfect person and probably wouldn't welcome that burden, but he consistently shows honesty, integrity, true concern for people, and a genuine wish to make this country better. It is a great comfort to watch him laugh, and play a little ball, and enclose his children in long, loving arms. He's normal and we're lucky to have him.

I donated money to the Obama campaign, I volunteered to work for him before he was elected, I voted for him, and I still think he is great. No one is perfect, not even Michele Bachmann or Dana Rohrabacher (who both think they are saints), but Obama is actually a terrific person with an engaging sense of humor and a brilliant mind. We're lucky he won because it would be bizarre if McCain and Palin were trying to run the country right now.
