President Obama got a warm welcome when he returned home from promoting his health care agenda in Ohio and Pennsylvania last Tuesday. Sasha and Malia were playing with their puppy Bo on the South Lawn. When the president arrived on Marine One, the daughters and dog went running into his arms.

See the sweetness unfold below.

These pictures are absolutely wonderful!
I'm so glad we have this family in the White House, so glad the kids get to enjoy their father and so glad he gets to spend time with his lovely family.

It does not matter that this man is the leader of the free world, for these kids, he is just DAD. See how
himself excited to see his children. You can see PURE JOY in seeing each other again after a long day at work, just any other Father. He is the perfect example of a loving father...I cannot get tired of
looking at this sweetness unfoding.

What a beautiful scene...the girls in their slippers, dog on a leash, sudenly dad is here from
work! Jump and run into his arms, and he was also running towards his beautiful loving kids.. a kodak moment everyone should appreciate..the background: The White House. How long has it been since we saw this loving family picture at the White House? This is what you should call Love and family values. Long live Presiden Obama and your family!

People can be as cynical as they want about insinuating this was "yet another photo op", and that is unfortunate.

The simple truth is those two girls were delighted to see their father, and showed youthful joy in their rushing to greet him. It's obvious they obviously share a strong and positive bond.

That in itself says volumes, and cannot be faked.

If a camera is there all the time and THIS is what they catch.....well, I say good on him. Good on him for being a warm, intelligent, caring man, husband, and father - president or not.

What's w/ you having some irritation about people enjoying a man and his kids enjoying each other!! That's perfectly normal to be happy for them and be touched by the moment. The kids will mature into adults and these moments will become memories they'll all wistfully look back on and so will we. So grow a heart why don't you!

It is nice to see two kids and a Daddy that really love each other. It takes me back to my childhood and that of my own children. I miss those days. But Malia is getting so tall...wow she is a knockout. The little one we don't see smiling too often. Great pictures...and that dog is a winner too. How nice it is to have a real quality family in our White House.

Barack's kids aren't concerned at all that their dad is the most powerful man in the world. Things are normal, as they should be for any family.

Before He is out of office, the sad truth is these daughters are the only two non conservatives that will think he is the dumbest guy in the world. Good luck Mr. President with being the father teenage girls. They will make the Israeli / Palestine conflict seem like a bump on the basketball court.

Balzac, I had to reply to your comment because it's the flip-side of what I was thinking: that the girls must really recharge Barack's batteries, and ground him in what really matters, while the hte life-and-death issues of the world swirl around him.

Neal, your comment to Balzac, above mine, is interesting, but I'm optimistic that Obama will not self-destruct. He seems to have the character of a marathoner, manages to do well in the long run.

I think what Neal is referring to is the normal pattern of adolescent growth where, for a few difficult years, the peer group is everything and the parents are thought of as "clueless".

My kid is nearly 18 and it is hard sometimes to be so obviously ignored... even though I know my words still get through at a deeper level.
