This woman looks so much like my daughter that I stared at it. My daughter is also single, unemployed for the last 14 months (she got caught between jobs when the crash hit, doesn't have unemployment). She sails on friends boats, but doesn't live on one yet. She doesn't own a boat, a house either.
I feel for all who are suffering so.
OMG!!!! When are Americans going to learn that capitalism is destroying and dividing us all! Damn it, knock down wall street and anything related to making human lives a commodity!! This has been going on for decades in our inner cities and Appalachia and no one gave a damn until it hit the middle class. Where was the outrage back then?
Exactly...No one cared about illegal immigration either since it was a border state problem. But when it started hitting them at home in their state, then they took notice.
My own spritual life is not Bible based, but when I read things like this article, I'm reminded of what's written in this book. I've read it time after time and consider it to be a work of philosophy that is one of the keystones of Western Civilization. Even though I don't believe it's the word of God, maybe I take it more seriously than those who profess to live by it.

I know a lady that lives behind me that is so broke she has no gas or electricity. She cooks her meals on the grill outside each morning, noon and night. She also mooches off the neighbors.
At least she has a house to live in.

If no justice is served the American People are going to get more restless, and the next time something happens.....there could be real UNREST! WE have to hold people accountable for their actions.

There really is just no reason for this. It's despicable. It's utterly despicable. God bless these 2 and God keep their boat safe and seaworthy.
These souls are living a metaphor.
The repubes believe we are all in our own boats and we sink or swim on our own. When you have a yacht the little boats around you are simply in your way, look cheap and likely have rats... best if they just sink with all on board.
Hopefully, this story will bring these two some relief and comfort and they'll be able to board the larger boat with those of us who know we actually sink or swim together.
I wonder how many military recruiters are going to read this and beat a path down to that little boat.

While I admit it was cause my mom was not well, but I spent a summer with my kid sister in Ocala, in abandoned homes, on the side of the road, wherever we could find a hiding place for us and about 15 dogs.
It was horrible, and I wish it on no one at all.
I give to every homeless person I see. I have to, one bit at at time. It makes me sick to see these expensive cars with the drivers waving off the homeless.
Have you been homeless? I often wonder.
