Egypt Regrets Killing Trash-Eating Pigs In Swine Flu Panic

They killed all 300,000 of Egypt's pigs this spring in an impulsive attempt to control swine flu, even though no cases had been reported within the country's borders. Now, Egyptian officials are wondering if they made a mistake, as the trash that the pigs once consumed accumulates in massive stinking piles.

Swine flu was the excuse. The pigs, all of them, were owned by the Christians. This was a perfect way to destroy your enemies livliehoods in one fell-swoop.

Kill the animals.........when in doubt, animals are killed........that's all we know........................we had a little bear come out of the woods because we are encroaching on their land and had no food........so, an authority came and shot the bear........when asked why, he said that people wouldn't back away.........gotta say, if I were the authority in that situation, I would have let the people know they should get the eF out of the way, or tranqulize him, but kill him????..it's always the animal that must go....I think that they are on a higher plain than we are, they only kill for safety, territory, or food.......WE call it a "sport." I am SO grateful that what goes around comes around!

Pigs breed pandemics, and we don't NEED to domesticate pigs. Wild Pigs do not. Wild birds also cause pandemics, but not nearly as deadly as the triple viruses, those that mix human, avian and swine flu. Besides we NEED wild birds.

Coptic Christians are the majority of Pig Farmers in Egypt. Some have speculated it was also an attempt to target them. In Mubarak's ever lasting attempt to appease the population and get it to go along with his corruption and stay away from Islamic Militants, he tramples on the rights of those who are expendable.

You make a well researched and cogent argument. Why on earth would we want clean water and clean air? I really want to live in a society where I step over dead and dying people - who needs health care or a vibrant economy anyway? And lets not forget the CRA - housing for poor people. When everyone knows they should be sleeping on the streets, that is until they die from lack of health care. Don't tell me we're going to have to pay someone to clear away their rotting corpses? We'll regret that too!

We'd appreciate it if you'd join society. We actually have some goals we'd like to accomplish. You know, a society where the welfare of the people is more important than the almighty dollar.
