New York Daily News:

"I think if I got to a point where I thought my candidacy was hurting my party, obviously it would be rather self-absorbed to go forward," Paterson said at a Syracuse luncheon.

He's a wise man if he bows out. There's certainty something in it for him in teh DNC or perhaps an appointment somewhere.....

I don't know but I think he's pretty smart and he can prove it to me and the DEMOCRATIC LEADER (President Obama) by gracefully bowing out. Thank you.

He has probably gotten another "message" from the leader of his party - and it was probably pretty pointed -
(1.)Don't run - really - we mean it - don't run ...and
(2.)ABSOLUTELY,don't ever show me up again by going to the press and whining that I have told you not to run

Blame, blame, blame, All he does is point fingers at others, without looking at the dismal failure he has become, inthe eyes of the public.
If he couldnt read the writing on the wall- His talketive wife could have read it out for him.
