Under the heading of "why didn't I think of that" there's now a fantasy football league for "off the field" infractions. If your player leads police on a high speed chase, that's worth 175 points.

If he were white?
Hey Plax, you want some cheese with that whine???Boo Hoo!!Go Eagles
he is incarcerated for the illegal possesion of a fire arm, not the damage done by it. the law is ridiculous but... it is the law.
Despite all the unsympathetic comments from the haters out there, I understand why he would want to carry a piece to protect himself after so many other NFL players have been targeted for robbery and some killed along the way.
He shot himself by accident. He could have hurt someone by accident too..yes. But he had no intention of hurting someone by accident along the way.
Crimes are supposed to have intent arent they?
Don't bother writing comments against mine...I'm not paying attention. I'm just writing my thoughts, which I'm entitled to just like the rest.
If, when his weapon accidentally discharged, the round struck another person would you claim "Well, he didn't INTEND to shoot anyone"
I have sympathy for anyone whose incarcerated. Even for those who I think deserve to be there. NY's gun laws don't leave enough room for judicial discretion. It is just plain stupid to incarcerate a man for accidentally shooting himself. It makes no sense at all.
Lets see here, colledge educated millionair football player shoots self in the leg with illegal gun. and gets sent to jail for his crime. And we are supposed to feel sorry for him, WHY???
Because he is going to spend two years in prison for an offense that did not harm a single person. It was a victimless crime, except for himself.
Everyone in the nightclub was put in jeopardy of being hit by the accidental discharge of his weapon
just bc he is a millionaire doesn't mean that people should feel happy he is jail. That's called jealousy.
But Trevor Harpaul is where? And does anyone care? Nope.
Poor baby...if this story wasn't so funny("NFL Thug shoots self in thigh...."
I do have sympathy for the guy, there have been two other NFL players in recent history that were gunned down, one of them in his own home. I can understand him packing heat, and I think the law's an ass for throwing a man in jail for hurting himself. If he had inflicted harm on others or brandished the firearm threatening other people, I wouldn't have any sympathy.
