Steve King

The Advocate:

In an extreme formulation of a tired antigay argument, Rep. Steve King of Iowa said that same-sex marriage is a "purely socialist concept" during an interview with a conservative radio network on Wednesday.

King, a Republican who represents the 5th congressional district, spoke with Greg Corumbus of Radio America for World Net Daily about his concern that congressional Democrats and the Obama administration are "pushing closer and closer" to repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act.

Every time they build a new, improved stupidometer because the last one was broken by a comment by Palin or Limbaugh, or Scarborough, or Cantor or one of the other know-nothings, another Republican steps up and breaks the new, strengthened one. Now they have to build another, even strong one again as a result of this statement Steve King.

Yes, except for the very wide yellow stripe.

Actually, republicans have a highly defined number for socialism. A top tax rate of 35% is capitalism, once it goes to 38% it becomes socialism. One exception, if the tax rate goes down but it's implemented by an African Am. that too is socialism.

it's very confusing but I am here to help;

"capitalism sex" is a system in which sex and the means to have sex are privately owned. That definition (which I just made up) is not gender specific and could be monotonous, but it works for some.

"fascist sex" is what many republicans would like us all to enjoy (endure). It is sex that is centralized and autocratic headed by a dictatorial leader, severe regimentation (missionary style), and forcible suppression of opposition (whips and chains?) . Some people are really into that.

"socialism sex" is equal access to rights and pleasure for all individuals with an egalitarian method of compensation. In other words, "have at it:" It is easy to see why republicans would be against socialism sex.

Why? Because without money, lots of it, nobody would want to "have at them?"

Well, I guess that since gay marriage is a social issue, "socialism" might be a good term for it...unless, of course, you check a dictionary; then you are nowhere near the truth...a situation quite familiar to the G.O.P., actually.

You know why I want the "defense of marriage" act repealed? Because MY marraige doesn't need defending. The only people with the power to destroy my marriage are my wife and myself. That's it. I live directly across the Missouri Rive from Kings district that he seems so intent on "protecting" from homosexuals. I've yet to have a gay Iowan come over the bridge and ask me to "join the other side". I do however, receive e-mails almost daily from people advertising for my chance to meet, Christian women, black women, big beautiful women, or sometimes just attractive women, but amazingly, I've never had ANY gay people soliciting me to cheat on my wife. Rep. King, I can see your district from my house, and I know for a fact, that there are many, many people hurting there. Some have lost their jobs, some can't afford health care, some are being beaten up by the heterosexual husbands, and some are cooking meth. Shouldn't you have a few more important matters on your plate?

Steve King does his part to cloud and distort the meaning of words. Great job Steve. Couldn't his grade school teacher have taught him the importance of using words according to their meaning.

Clearly there is nothing too stooopid for these troglodytes to say, no assertion more bereft of logical support to make, no position beyond the reach of reason to take. These are refrigerator-magnet talking points - just scramble hot-button words up and re-arrange them in random order. I am now unwilling to wager against the proposition that the next pearl of wisdom to fall from the lips of one of these clowns is that "government-run health care makes hard-working Americans into gay illegal aliens"...

In King's world same- sex marriage is "socialism", but MULTIPLE different- sex divorces qualifies a person to be the spokesman(Limbaugh) for the morality of the far right. Did I miss some irony here?

I think it's great that the pugs are overusing this term. Pretty soon it will have lost it's previously frightening meaning.....it may already have

LMAO!!! What will they think of next? And how can anyone take these guys seriously?

What I want to know is why the republicans spend so much time worrying about who is gay, what causes being gay, what gay folks do behind closed doors, etc... We see what their "values" really are since they know so much about porn and all!
