Thomas the so called pg man, really is a woman. She may have had her breasts removed and grown a beard, changed her name, but she kept her female organs. So for her to get pg twice isn't that hard to understand.

Doesn't the husband look a *little* smug in the story picture? It looks likeh he's thinking, Oh yeah. I made the 19 pound baby. *pelvic thrust*

The photo that accompanies this story is just priceless; I chuckle every time I see it. The look on the smaller baby's face says it all. LOL . . .

If he wasn't already here, I'd suggest she gave birth to Rush Limbaugh.

On the outside picture, I love the look of the little one looking at the big crying baby. Adorable!

WOW...a lot of mean comments on this post.

Seriously, what does her weight have to do with the story? I'm assuming everyone making mean comments are fit and in top shape.

She is two different women in one so no surprise here.

The mean spirited, narrow minded comments regarding this woman's appearance relfect a lot that's wrong with American culture right now. Seems like we adapted this prejudice against full size women from the English. At the turn of the 20th century in this country this would have been a desirable look.

I've heard that whales do this all the time.

Are we sure she doesn't have a few more hidin' up in there?...Just joking.
But this story does underscore how complex and sometimes counterintuitive our own human physiology can be. Really the human race and medicat understanding have been witnessing and trying to comprehend the process of human reproduction as long as anything in human experience and still it surprises us. It should serve as a reminder that when you think "the debate is over" when it comes to science, you should quickly remember how embarrassing it is to remove one's foot from one's mouth.

I see an exciting and groundbreaking reality show in the future...Yawn.

This is a grossly overweight woman. No matter how you look at her, she is not a healthy person. She shouldn't be having children period.

Who appointed you BabyCzar? How absolutely arrogant.

robin50,

You are correct. This is a very unhealthy situation, complications are very likely just because of the 100 pounds of excess weight.

I've heard and read of situations where a woman states she is on the pill but she got pregnant anyway. And, I believed that wasn't possible if a woman was regularly taking the pill and most that I've heard/read about said they were. Well, if superfetation can occur, then it is equally possible, I would think, that a woman can still get pregnant even though on the pill in rare incidences such as the facts in this story too.

It's absolutely true that women can and do get pregnant while on the pill, that's how my son was conceived.

When it says on the label that it's 96-99% effective, it really means that in 1-4% of the cases it's NOT effective. Multiply out 4% of the population and it's a pretty big number....

It can happen! No birth control method is 100% guaranteed. Every woman's body is different, and the hormones you're putting into your body may not always "meld" with your natural cycle. I know a few married couples this has happened to, and two of them were actually on two kinds of birth control at once (one switching from an IUD to the pill, and one switching from the shot to the pill). Their doctors suggested that the wives start taking the pill before the other method was removed/stopped.

Remember, doctors and pharmaceutical companies PRACTICE medicine....
