Vince Vaughn Works Out With 95-Year-Old Jack LaLanne (VIDEO)

Jay Leno put Vince Vaughn to work earning his plug for his new movie, 'Couples Retreat.' Vaughn was forced to work out at the hands of 95-year-old fitness icon Jack LaLanne.

"Now Jack, I want you to whip this candy ass into shape!" Leno said.

LaLanne coached Vaughn through a series of dips on a metal chair, which he executed gamely then kissed the old man on the cheek.

'Couples Retreat,' in which Vaughn plays a happily married man on vacation with friends who are trying to save their marriages, opens October 9.

Yes, sunnybunny I agree. I remember seeing Jack Lalanne many years ago when I was a kid years ago,. I'm wondering, with a new TV show, and obviously looking for viewers why Leno didn't have an interview with Jack? Really....­.who is more interesting, Jack or Vince!? The cameras didn't even give a close up of Jack? Another reason I don't watch TV.

I remember watching Jack LaLanne as a child. I got out my slide rule and calculated that Mr. LaLanne was in his mid forties at the time, already well past the age for retirement of most "athletes.­" That was 50 years ago. I guess there is something to be said for carrot juice. The connection to Vince Vaughn for this segment was pretty weak and forced, though. Vaughn was a good sport, but he must have been thinking, "WTF?"

He sang a very sweet song at the end of every show. I watched him everyday when I was a little girl before I was old enough to go to Kindergarten, and he captivated me. His positive, "go for it" spirit was undeniable. He remains an inspiration.

Yes, Happy the Dog. If you check You Tube see the video with Jack and Happy titled: "Jack Lalanne The Dog Diet" he explains that Happy gets six pounds of raw meat a day, plus raw egg yolks, vitamins,mineral and cod liver oil. Jack was so progressive! And I think he is Italian.

I love Vince Vaughn. I went to school with him in Lake Forest, IL he's as funny as he was now as he was back then. Unlike most actors, he's never changed his real name.

This made me cry, a tiny apartment, two toddlers, we didn't have gyms or cable,we had The Royal Canadian Air Force exercise book and Jack LaLanne. My babies would do the exercises next to me. One day, about 1:25 p.m., Walter Cronkite broke in to Jack's show to tell us about JFK's shooting and death. He was a lifeline for young mothers in the 1960s. I love him still. I still remember his dog and his beautiful wife!!!

I remember when I was a little girl watching my mom exercise to Jack LaLanne on TV - she used a kitchen chair, too. He is amazing!
