Joy Behar Slams Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly On "Reliable Sources" (VIDEO)

"The View" co-host Joy Behar brought her sharp tongue to CNN's "Reliable Sources" today when she slammed Fox News hosts Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. Beck regularly references his past struggles with alcohol and drug addiction and Behar thinks that could be one of the reasons why he cultivates such an outrageous personality:

But I think that he is frequently ridiculous and doesn't make any sense as far as I'm concerned. But he calls himself a rodeo clown, he's a clown, he's on the cover of Time magazine. I mean the media just plays right into his hands... He's addicted to all of that publicity I think. It took the place of drinking.

CNN host Howard Kurtz played a clip of Bill O'Reilly and Behar in a contentious moment on "The View," which led to O'Reilly branding Behar a "pinhead" on his show. Behar called it a "badge of honor":

He called me a pinhead. He's called me a Kool-Aid drinker. It's ok, it's like being on Nixon's enemies list. I think it's a badge of honor to be called a pinhead by Bill O'Reilly.

There is no cure for addiction - it is long recognized that the addictive personality can only "get" over an addiction by replacing it with a more socially acceptable addiction. Might there be fewer smokers if it became okay to pick one's nose in public?

Finally HLN is going to feature someone with some sense. I do not understand how Nancy Grace has a show and especially one that exploits people's tragedies. Lawrence O'Donnell is good as a substitute but there is only one Keith Olbermann. When he is not on Countdown that show is not the same. MSNBC should add some different point of views. Keith and Rachel are great, but they should add some variety to their shows instead of all white male/female shows. I will give Conservative News Network (CNN) credit for having some people of color as journalist: Fareed Zakaria, Christiane Amanpour, Soledah O'Brien and Don Lemon. Who does MSNBC have that is a non-white journalist or one that has a show?

It is notorious that we each believe everyone else has some addiction but we limit ourselves only to 'substance abuse'...Forgetting the really insidious and most fatal addictions such as:

Too many words. But your first paragraph is a clear description of the motivation of the health insurance companies, the insurance lobbyists, and ultimately all the senators and congressman who fall prey to the bright green dollar bill, and the power that it secures or threatens.
The scary thing about Glenn Beck is that he puts on his dog-and-pony for the ratings. It's as simple as that. Obviously Democrat/Republican doesn't matter to him (even though he really doesn't like McCain). I for one can't stand watching him, I feel myself dumbing down with his misquoting American founders, and misinterpreting motives, and wasting a week on his show mischaracterizing Rockefeller Center as a Marxist beacon (even though FOX studios sits comfortably inside). This is a man high on something; whether its a space holder for the alcohol or IV drugs from his past I cant say, but there is definitely void filling at work. Lol, he wanted to announce a day of fasting on Yom Kippur....

She's wrong about Glen Beck? Let me just say, I used to be a big fan of Bill O'reilly. I bought his first book, I spoke about him on a few med school interviews. But he sold out. He became an Acorn farmer and a Murdoch lapdog that supports and propagates this gray matter exodus at Fox News. He was that stations last hope, but he has since wrapped himself up comfortably in this propagandized news-making organization. I won't even talk about Glenn.

Here is the deal... Here in GA, the Beck show is being sponsored by local businesses, which I am assuming do supt the GOP and Fox. So national sponsors may back away, the show is supported by the locals in their respective states/towns.
