MAY HAVE offered him a job?
This is what I'm disliking about huffpost. They put these headlines about Obama out there, people jump on them... get all worked up and upset thinking Obama betrayed them and a few days later there's a new headline "Obama didn't really do that". The problem is that not very many people notices the retraction headlines, just the originals.

Simple politics, if true. It happens in every industry and business, including government.

Bennet was appointed to Ken Salazar's seat after Obama selected Salazar as Sec of Interior. It was a move that got a DINO out of the Senate but Bennet was an unexpected pick by the Governor and not very strong statewide.

I totally agree with you. If you were to say Obama offered an UNQUALIFIED person a job to deter a competitive run, that might be news. The rest is just....POLITICS.
02:52 AM on 09/28/2009
and how is this bit of cronyism any different or worse than offering jobs, cabinet positions and ambassardorships to the Clintons, former Clinton staffers, other democrats and republicans?

Get back to us when you can explain how any of the people you allude to are unqualified for their jobs.....unlike say, Alberto Gonzales, Michael Brown (FEMA) , Harriet Meiers (prospectuve SCt Justice)....many in the Justice Department who were from inferior law schools but were hired because they toed the line by hating, say, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.....

This looks more like another attempt by the Corporate Media to sully the Obama administration and the Democratic party by stirring up controversy where there is none. (a comment from another at David Sirota's article regarding this same article)

This is the source (?) which the Denver Post has given credence to...an ANONYMOUS source....

"Yet several top Colorado Democrats described Messina's outreach to Romanoff to The Post, including the discussion of specific jobs in the administration. They asked for anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject."

This article was an unscrupulous plant either by Romanoff people or the great rightwing conspiracy which, as Clinton says, is alive and well....

ALERT: We must all be vigilant for fake, unscrupulous articles without basis.

All that you say is true, but the core is this: there is nothing wrong with offering a job to a qualified person. Period.

For those of you that may be unfamiliar with Colorado politics and "the" newspaper in Colorado, The Denver Post is the only major newspaper in Colorado, having disposed of it's only rival through a merger and joint operating agreement last year. The right wing has been firmly in control of the news in Colorado for years, a strategy that had meant that the state was firmly Republican, until more and more intelligent, thinking people moved to Colorado as a result, the state has become more and more progressive. There are areas of this state that have not been blessed with some intelligent influx, like Montrose and Grand Junction, where there are an overwhelming influx of oil field workers and, I hate to say it Texans, skews the IQ downward. Now that the gas field development is slowing, I have high hopes that the intelligence of the Western Slope (and the rest ) of Colorado will return to a normal state soon.

Once I read that the teller's of the tale were anonymous , I have to tell ya, I quit reading.
Just another "I know it's true, I just made it up" story.
When are we going to realize the Republican party is using fear tactics on us too, they're just using a different conversation on us than they use on their constituents.
I won't believe what can't be verified.
