On Friday the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute released its Great American Conservative Women Calendar. We got a preview of the calendar and decided to turn it into a slideshow so you can vote on your favorite conservative lady! But wait... there's a catch!

One bad drivers license photo of Scarlett Johannson for example, by itself, outclasses their whole calendar. And that's before one considers what lurks between those conservative ladies' ears, which by no means adds to their supposed allure.

Sure a liberal calendar idea is silly, just as selling guaranteed non-bitter or IQ-draining teabags would be, but there are reasons to do these things.

The trend seems to be that conservatives are trying to mainstream the extremist fringe by marketing, marketing, marketing. It seems they're leaving no stone unturned. Every gimmick is on the table.
Also today I saw that freedom works is selling for $20 a panoramic image of the recent DC teaparty. There's an birther infomercial that shills for donations and ships out a birther bumper sticker.

People!!! Moderates and Liberals are officially under attack from zealous fanatics on the extreme right wing of the GOP.

The birther bumper sticker costs $30 and the 30 min informercial in the Lubbock Texas area sets the group back $100 per night! The "minister" showcasing the shill is a ex con.
Rachel Maddow did a "wait there's more" expose on it last night (9/28/09) because you get sooo much for your $30's and they are pocketing $1,000's in "overhead".

Last year some Rethug did a poster of THEIRS and OURS...women to be exact.

For DEMS they chose all older women like Madeline Albright and Helen Thomas
For RETHUGS they chose the likes of Bo Derek and Janine Turner

Dems were ALL candid unretouched shots of 50 and older women
Rethugs were all photoshopped studio head shots of a distinctly under 50 group

They declared "WE WIN"

Instead of a calendar why not put together a book, with pics of them actually doing what they do...a day in the life kinda thing, instead of looking like a reality tv show ad like the above.

Since there have been so many beautiful liberal women over the years I think a coffee table book would be an excellent idea.
Maybe famous liberal photographer Annie Lebovitz could shoot some of the more recent ones and they could gather those who've past on from archived photos.
