Now if only Saudis would take the same approach with Pakistan re. OBL and other Jihadis... one can only dream.

You don't see any problem with sourcing The Times of India on internal Pakistan politics? Do you source AIPAC sponsored data for your pro Zionist objectivity ? :)))))

No big surprise that Pak army was double dealing with Taliban Al Qaeda and U.S.

No big surprise it backfired. Islamic fanatics always, always assume that moderation towards them is a sign of weakness.

This is all very complicated and confusing.

With or without Musharrif's knowledge elements of the Pakistani military and Intelligence services were supporting the Taliban befor and after 9/11/01.That has been the unanimous opinions reported from Afghanistan since the overthrow of the Taliban,

And of course the ISI and the Pakistani Truck Mafia created the Taliban in the first place.

I can believe Musharrif was kept in the dark. That is the big problem with being a dictator. People only tell you what they think you want to hear.

But I don't believe for an instant that nobody in the Pakistani military or intelligence service knew who and how the Taliban were supported, armed and financed.

I am hopeful that the Pakistani military as awoken to the threat the fundamentalists pose to their country. And are honestly trying to fight the Frankenstein monster they created. If they are there is a very good chance President Obama can get us out of that mess in Afghanistan.

If not. . . I don't even want to think about it.
