Dennis Hopper Hospitalized: Sick, Rushed By Ambulance To ER, Cancels 'Morning Joe'
NEW YORK (AP)- Dennis Hopper, in town to publicize his TV series "Crash," was taken to a hospital after developing flulike symptoms.
Sheila Feren said that the 73-year-old star of "Easy Rider" and "Blue Velvet" was being examined at an unidentified New York hospital Wednesday afternoon after complaining of stomach ailments usually associated with the flu.
Hopper was forced to cancel a number of interviews and TV appearances, including The Associated Press, "Today" and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," where he was replaced by Jack McBrayer of "30 Rock."
His current project is "Crash," a TV version of the Oscar-winning 2004 film. Hopper plays maniacal music producer Ben Cendars on the drama, which airs on the Starz network.

Hopper was supposed to appear on 'Morning Joe' this morning but fell ill before taping his segment. At the end of the show Willie Geist said, "Dennis Hopper felt ill at the last moment and we'll have him back on."

September 30, 2009 (Los Angeles, CA)-- Sources tell ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT that acting legend Dennis Hopper has been rushed to a New York hospital.
Sources say that the actor was brought in by ambulance to the emergency room at a Manhattan hospital, wearing an oxygen mask and with numerous tubes visible.
The 73-year-old actor has been nominated for an Oscar twice - for 1969's 'Easy Rider,' and 1986's 'Hoosiers.'
