Message In A Bottle: Sting Is Sending Out An SOS To Save The Rainforests (VIDEO)

Sting is teaming up with The Prince's Rainforest Project on the 30th anniversary of The Police's song, 'Message In A Bottle' to spread the word about rainforest destruction and to urge people to get involved. In this exclusive music video for The Huffington Post, he's joined by Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Rod Stewart, Prince Charles, Olivia Newton John and others to express how critical it is to save the rainforests. An adorable frog also accompanies the celebs as they lend their support. The PRP is hoping to build momentum around the issue in advance of the climate talks in Copenhagen this December.

I love the 3D frogs and I think the campaign actually does a great job of using technology to petition for a change in our attitudes towards this problem. The interactive aspects of the video feature allow people to personalize their message, which is important as it will appeal to a younger audience. Educating people about burning issues such as tropical deforestation takes time and this project allows the message to get out quickly and hopefully with maximum impact leading up to Copenhagen! It is good to see celebrities, such as Sting, reminding all of us that we need to step up and take ownership of being good stewards of the planet we've been given. We can all help in big or small ways to make our planet clean and healthy to live in again. It is disturbing to know that toxic wastes are still being dumped in our waters. Livestock being penned in...which keeps them lethargic and sick, so the livestock is injected with all kinds of antibiotic­s/steroids to keep the livestock alive. The close quarters also produce excessive concentrated amounts of CH4 (methane) which gets into our waters. People eat these livestock? Free ranging livestock would promote healthier livestock and healthier eating for us...and a cleaner environment. Going to an alternative source to power our transportation would eliminate most of the harmful CO2 emissions that destroy our ozone and cause our waters to warm and rise...if we continue on the fossil fuel road, we may witness some coastlines/islands disappeari­ng...exces­sive CO2 in our air also makes it increasingly worse to breathe.

Sting has over 500M - Harrison and Stewart probably at least half that - the so-called prince has billions (of pounds that could otherwise be used for the hungry homeless and destitute in his country) I love Stings music - but its easy for the spoiled elitists to harp on about things - They have no perspective on real lives and real issues that people deal with day to day.....
