Boehner: I Have Not Met One American Who Supports The Public Option

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) has just more or less dared proponents of a public option to bombard his office with their expressions of support of the plan.

Boehner claimed, with a semi-straight face, that he has yet to meet a regular "American" who favors the option -- despite polls showing that a majority of voters support to the idea of having the choice of a government plan.

This is the message I sent to Boehner on the petition:

I support the public option, like millions of other Americans, and I'm mad as hell.

Perhaps, if you tried harder to get in touch with your constituents, you could stop making so many outrageous claims. The only reason you and your colleagues will not support health care reform and the public option is because it would be consedered a "win" for President Obama. It's always about scoring political points, and the American people can just be damned. You may think the GOP's opposition strategy is working for you, but I think it will backfire. The majority of Americans (not your 21% lunatic fringe) are not as stupid as you like to believe. YES, WE CAN see through your BS. I hope and pray that the upcoming mid-term elections clean you and your ilk out of Congress. We need politicians who look out for our best interests.

An excellent indicator of how far have Republicans strayed away from American people. Do they really think they can get re-elected on the strength of the lobbyists money alone? Republicans have lost touch with reality. The conventional wisdom is that democrats will lose some seats in congress in the next election cycle. If they continue like this, Republicans may end up losing more seats than Democrats.

Oh, he hasn't met a "regular American" who supports the public option. So Boehner surrounds himself with these regular Americans, at the town halls and wherever he goes to speak. "Regular" being code for republican. Gosh, what a surprise. So glad I am not regular.

Only when its time to get a tan (unless he has plenty of tanning beds in his mansions), picking up his pay check from the medicare insurance companies that he sides along with and I guess socializing with the rest of his self centered and absorbing pals who too sides with the greediest people in this country including lobbyists.
