Oh please! The decision to which you refer was taken by the government of Scotland, specifically the Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill. Get your facts straight.

"But Mr Obama did not want to "spoil the image of success" of his disarmament session, which passed a resolution to work towards a nuclear-free world and a host of measures designed to control the spread of nuclear weapons and reduce existing stocks."

does that not make sense to anyone else here?

Yes it is. It is a right-of-centre broadsheet and not the National Enquirer. It's a serious paper. You seem to be confusing it with The Daily Express or The Daily Mail.

Most MSM do selective reporting...very biased! Thus, are not the most reliable sources. Journalism has for centuries been based on Propaganda and today, it clearly shows as there are several media outlets and the human intelligence can no longer be manipulated.

Recently our MPs were caught with their trousers down. They have been claiming expenses for the most ridiculous things. Thanks to the Telegraph, the British public found out exactly who was claiming for what; information that all political parties (what a surprise) wanted to keep out of the public domain citing privacy and some even national security.

It was only after the Telegraph expose that Brown, Cameron and the rest feigned outrage at the gross waste of public money and vowed to clean up the system.

I am a socialist and do not often agree with the Telegraph's take on events but on this, I doff my cap and hail them a big thank you.

Most people on here have understood the bias of the Telegraph. It hates Brown, has no time for Sarkozy for that matter, but will use anything it can to damage Obama. Not a serious newspaper - known in the UK as the Torygraph.

DId anyone here actually READ the entire article, or just the paragraph here? The reason Obama refused to discuss it at the proper time, when discussing nuclear weapons, because the administration didn't want to spoil his big moment.

Hmmmm, spoil image or discuss a nuclear Iran?

And you wonder why those of us who said Obama was too inexerienced to be president are worried...

Poor America.

We've been dumb.ed down zombies for so long that we don't seem to be able to grasp anything that can't be satisfied by a cowboy diplomacy/storm trooper-world cop/me-first/give it to me now, mentality.

I was offended that it was easier for low information bigots to believe that a (coincidentally black) US Senator, former constitutional law professor and candidate for President of the United States would actually not know that there were not 57 states in the union; rather than appreciate the wry humor that an exhausted, daily hounded media target was making about his demanding and tiring schedule.

It is equally offensive to assume that this President is motivated by looking good, polls, and other inanities that the GOP paints him with, in order to diminish both his presence and effectiveness. (A talking point strategy (put out during the campaign comparing him to Britney Spears) used in an attempt to portray him as a non-substantial "rock star."

Some people have just awaken to the political process for the first time EVER in some cases. You have no idea of the pressures, vastness, complexities of the job; let alone the high level information that only HE has access to (Transparency? YOU CAN'T HANDLE transparency), yet you know better than That One could POSSIBLY know. How rude!

You know, ignorance plus arrogance PLUS bigotry can be a blinding and lethal combination.

I don't think anyone is "experienced" enough to be President. They all learn it on the job.

I do know the selection was all senators, not one of whom had ever managed anything. That I would not do again. It is unusual (not since Kennedy) for this country to elect a senator.

And what did your last guy ever manage? The president is NOT a CEO. It's a much bigger job than that and the bottom line is NOT all that counts.
Do you also believe that school is where we put kids to prepare them for the workplace?

When world leaders come together and have discussions, they may very well have different points of view. To say there was argument or anger is simply mis-leading. They shared their take on it and came up with a plan to deal with it. I really am beginning to wonder if those who write articles like this are hoping to adversely affect the work that is being done by these leaders.

It's the headlines more often than the articles. Most often the headline doesn't match the actual article. People read the headline and go no further. It's really misleading.

toughness is not always military and threats. our tough stance did not stop the 911 attacks, if we listen and treated ppl with diplomacy maybe we wouldn't be in the turmoil were in now. we so big gloating and blinded ourselves to the conspiracy that took place.

I guess the French are done selling Iran nuclear tech. It must be time to blow it all up so they can sell it all again.

Brown is not liked in England and the only reason anyone gives a s*** about Sarkozy is because of his hot supermodel wife.

And Sarkozy knows that. He hates that Obama has stolen his spotlight in France, Michelle is the most respected First Lady and is angered that he and Carla have awful approval ratings for some reason. Heard Carla might get pregnant around re-election time to curry favor. Unreal.

Look up all the stories about President Obama from this paper and you will see a clear partern (always negative and often exagrated) so there is not suprise in this article.

I seem to recall that this same paper also reported that UN week that President Obama had snubbed PM Brown and refused to talk to him 5 times.

So which story is true: either the two had a quarrel during the time about when to release the Iran nuclear information or the two did not talk because BO snubbed GB

Absolutely the daily telegraph HATES Obama. Just read the blog entries for their writers. They've called him everything to naive, silly and even thuggish. THUGGISH? This eloquent man is thuggish? I wonder why they used THAT word.

Nothing that The Daily Telegraph prints about President Obama can be taken at face value. It is, and has been for decades, a newspaper that slants its coverage to support the policies of the Conservative Party and the interests of the British corporate sector. It was enthusiastic about George W. Bush's policies and is suspicious and unsupportive of Obama. In short, it's a propaganda sheet.
