The more I see them the more I realize what a mistake it was to vote for Obama.

These two narcissists ,with their appallingly bad speeches in which they spoke about themselves repeatedly, MO's maudlin speech about her father's illness, MO's gold outfits that were aggressively suggestive of winning the gold, his trite speech about himself, all struck such a bad note in Copenhagen. Such an embarrassing look at this president who did not have the sense to stay home and instead, thinking he would bring home the glory, put himself in the position of being slapped down by the international Olympic committee. Shameful.

This presidency is more and more about the Obamas as celebrity;their fights, their fawning after each other, their Camelot 2 scenes, MO's scowls, her anger, her clothing, his conjoling her, his groping of her various places, his girlfriends etc etc.

What happened to the serious business of change that Obama promised us.....

I'm noticing a pattern on the political right of shame and humiliation about anything this country gets involved in. Most people don't feel that this country is particularly shameful, nor is there anything shameful about trying to get the Olympics, even if it's a longshot.

The celebration on the right when the US lost is part of the same pattern. Shame at being American, glee at anything perceived as a loss by America.

Many heads of state travel to the Olympic Committee to try to persuade the Olympics to their country because it brings jobs, positive recognition, and prestige to the country. I applaud the Obama's for lobbying for the Olympics. It's not their loss, it's Americas loss at a time when foreign tourists to America is down, partly because of the recession, but I think also partly because of the negative press that has circulated around the world of angry, screaming, submachine gun toting Americans at town hall meetings; murders of innocent people and children in the streets of Chicago, right at the very moment they were lobbying for Chicago as the venue, and certainly the fact that some 46% oc Chicagoans did not want it was not lost on the committee wherein Rio's population welcomed the Olympics with fervor. Were I choosing between what friend to visit, I certainly would think twice about visiting where the parents welcomed me, but the rest of the family did not want me, and stood to make life miserable for me during my visit. Many Americans, like you for instance, don't have a clue as to how their world image affects their economy. In a global economy, one country can't stand alone.

Why are you blaming the Obamas? Blame the media.

Anybody who has been married for more than about two weeks know that marriages are going to have there ups and downs. For some reason, this media seems overly enamored with this couple when there are critical national issues they are ignoring.

Why aren't reporters investigating irresponsible statements by talking heads, challenging them with facts? Why are corporate leaders allowed to ignore laws and nobody challenges them? America's reported are lazy and their editors and producers are not holding their feet to the fire.

It's easier to do a fluff story on a visit to Copenhagen than corporate swindles.

I think her point is that the photographer is photographing the FLOTUS, not Beyonce. There should be some dignity and decorum accorded to the FLOTUS. Her backside should be off limits to everyone except the Pres of course.
