A.J. Jewell Dead: Ex-Fiance Of Atlanta 'Housewife' Kandi Burruss, Dies After Club Brawl

UPDATE: An arrest has been made. Fredrick Richardson has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

PREVIOUSLY: The ex-fiance of Kandi Burruss, who stars on "Real Housewives of Atlanta," died Friday night after a brawl erupted at a club in Atlanta.

Police say Ashley "A.J." Jewell suffered severe head injuries during a fight at the strip club Body Tap, was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, and later died, according to myfoxatlanta.com.

As of Saturday morning police had no suspects in custody, but there is a person of interest.

Another report says the fight erupted in a parking lot and that Kandi is "stunned and speechless" at the news of his death.

Kandi is the new 'Housewife' on season 2 of the show, now airing on Bravo. On the show, filmed months ago, she and A.J. are happily engaged and seen planning a wedding, despite her mother's objections to A.J. already having six children by multiple women.

Kandi, a single mother of one, has never been married. She is a Grammy-winner now working on launching a solo career.

In the wee hours Saturday morning Kandi tweeted:

It is unclear when the two split up.

Obviously, this guy was quite the charmer. He charmed his way onto TV. He charmed his way into this successful woman's heart. He charmed the pants out of at least 4 women. He charmed girls into taking off their clothes and shaking their ___ so he can get some money. He charmed this woman, who he never got around to marrying, into taking on his responsibilities with his kids. And now, she, who already had one child to raise on her own, now has 3. Wow.

Sis. Kandi, you're probably a kind hearted woman. And the Lord will surely bless you for not turning your back on these children. He will help you, as you will need His help. And, when He tells us don't go a certain way, we should stop thinking we know better.

There was nothing special about this Jewell guy. He was like a disease. Six kids, four women and countless generations will have to accept the fact that they can't get rid of it. It is worse than a birth mark.

A lot of comments about class and classiness! The problem with much of the world are those who try to convince everyone else that they are somehow bettter. In our quest for status, we forget that the living is far more important than the "d.e.a.d. But we love our d.e.a.d. things. So insecure about ourselves, that we collect these d.e.a.d. things and present them as testament to our self worth. "I may not be much, but look at my house, car, diamond (fill in the blank) and NOW look at me! When we see a beautiful flower, alive in the ground, we appreciate it more when it's d.e.a.d. in a vase.
