Washington Post:

A federal judge on Monday disclosed the existence of videotapes that may reveal potentially abusive interrogations of a Guantanamo Bay detainee, and ordered the government to provide copies of the tapes to the man's lawyers.

Lawyers for the detainee, Mohammed al-Qahtani, say they think the tapes will show that their client made incriminating statements only because he was tortured.

Why are they so terrified to let those people set foot on U.S. soil? Even for trials? Even though most of them are innocent? Something stinks here.

Congress has capitulated to teabag mentality. It's the perpetuation of xenophobia and generalized fear. Dems need to buck up and be realistic instead of capitulating to this fear mongering.

[Even though most of them are innocent?]

That is WHY they are terrified of trials. They know that a lot of them will be found not guilty and testify that they were t0rtured.

The general public does NOT need to see them. They need to be kept protected against tampering and photo shopping and all other manner of alterations. This use of the tapes as evidence is the best way to use them. I have NO doubt that were the tapes released, the RW would find a way to use them against Obama and our nation. Any people who hate this administration enough to root for the failure of the Olympics will stop at nothing to protect torturers.

As long as the Cheney family forces us to hear of the greatness of torture, we should be forced to see the methods that they embrace.

[Did anyone watch morning joke today ?]

Quit wasting your time watching a "joke" (unless you like the comedy, of course) and his ratings dry up.

I pity today's children.

It used to be so easy for me to defend the honor and the character of the government of the United States of America when I was abroad.

But then Bush, Cheney, & PNAC, LLP happened...today's children will have a much harder time holding their heads up when our government is discussed abroad.

Meanwhile- the World moves forward in a Global Economy/World!

Big Bad America!

One of the most trustworthy news papers in the world now owned by Murdoch:

WSJ/Murdoch: Mr. President- Dumb it Down!

Pitiful!

Just pitiful!

Traveling outside of this country and peopla asking how we could have voted for Bush twice?

First time- they forgave us- not the 2nd!

The world warned us not to invade Iraq-

What did we do?

GOP renamed French Fries and invaded Iraq.

We were warned: Australians warned us not to allow Rupert Murdoch to infiltrate our free press standards

England warned us not to allow Rupert Murdoch to infiltrate our free press standards

Sir Richard Branson said something like "if we let him, Murdoch will destroy democracy".

We ignored Australia and England- look at the dumb down we got!

WSJ- Dumb it Down President!

Wall Street Journal- Once the most trustworthy news in the WORLD

Pitiful and shameful WSJ: Dumb it Down Mr. President!

As long as Bushco is dealt with by the law (put in a dungeon and the key thrown away), the children of today won't have nearly as a large a problem as the VOTERS of today.

I unschool my child but am curious about what his age group's high school US History book is going to say about Cheney & Co. Of course, that will be determined by those who write the Textbooks. Hmmm?
