Samsung Denver Cell Phone Study: One In Three Of Denverites Would Sooner Give Up Sex Than Phones

Samsung has released the results of a Denver-area consumer study that indicated nearly a third of Denver area residents would sooner give up sex for a year that go without a cell phone for the same amount of time.

From the Samsung press release::

The September 2009 research study found 29 percent of men and women in Denver would rather forgo sex for an entire year rather than give up their cell phones for the same amount of time. When it came to the battles of sexes, Denver women (33 percent) were more willing than men (20 percent) to lose their libidos versus missing their mobile phones.

The Poll also showed 39% of Denver residents prefer texting over talking.

(39 percent) of [Denverites] rely on texting to communicate instead of having an actual phone conversation... Women (44 percent) are more likely to text than talk on their cell phones than their male counterparts (30 percent).

I could not live without my cell phone, I use it for work as well as just staying in touch with my friends, in fact I use it all day every day which is way more than I could ever dream of having sex and I wouldn't want to. I have a Straight Talk unlimited plan with unlimited talk, texts and 30mb of data and I really know how to use it!

Hey, I've got an idea -- let those people who say that they would rather have cell phones than sex live by their words. I can't imagine that we want people who are that shallow to reproduce anyway.

In order for me to give this poll any credence I would also need to know the percentage of people who actually have had sex within the past year. I've you aren't getting it anyway, it's pretty easy to say you're willing to give it up.

It's crazy how much women text. They'll text entire conversations giving themselves carpel tunnel before actually calling. Texting makes sense it you just need to say one thing real fast but for crying out loud... make the freaking call if you want to have a conversation. It drives me insane when people try to text me a conversation.
