Lieberman Wants Czar Hearings, Mulling Legislation

Hey, so guess who is mulling new legislation to solve the alleged problem of Obama's "czars"? Joe Lieberman!

He may even hold hearings on the czars, as the chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Since this will confer legitimacy on an attack that has mostly emanated from Glenn Beck and the hothouse right, it could prompt an "I told you so" chorus from those who argued that Lieberman should be stripped of his committee slots.

CZAR is a media term. It has NOTHING to do with the government of the United States.

This whole issue of czars is ridiculous. Have we already forgotten that Tom Ridge was originally appointed the Homeland Security "czar" (stupid made up media term that has no basis in actual government titles) precisely because Bush didn't want to subject his chief counterterrorism advisor to senate confirmation and congressional oversight?

But of course, for some reason, we have to subject Obama to a different set of rules. I wonder why that is.

As a treacherous backstabber, Lieberman should have been stripped of his committee slots as soon as President Obama took office. Afterall, one can not forget the role he played in demonizing Senator Obama with a view to aiding the republicans in gaining the White House.
