~ i go so often there is no way i could wait , when i have to go , i have to go ~
~ i dont like going on a plane any more than anyone else, there to small to even turn around in anyway, and there is always the fear of turbulence while in the act, dont know what would happen and dont want to find out. ~

I almost never use the restroom during a flight.

The longest recent one was MAD-DFW, on a largely empty 757. I simply used the restroom in the airport before boarding, and only drank 2 8oz bottles of water.

Granted, I really had to go once we landed, but it wasn't too terrible.

My reluctance is reinforced by a recent article suggesting that flushing airplane toilets is particularly unsanitary. (the article said always lower the lid, even at home!)

~ hum +++ at some time you are going to have to raise that lid again, then what ? +++ ~
~I know what you are refering to, ( tiny particles in air when flushed ) do you think they may be on the seat and lid ? ~
~ they would have to be,no one has ever said anything about this. ~

The way airlines treat passengers now I think this is a good idea.

Just let us pee on the gate attendants shoes before departure to save every ounce of weight. That is about what they are doing to us.

Japan Nippon Airlines' next weight-saving carbon-saving innovation? Pre-flight laxatives.

Won't work. By the time you get through ticket lines and security, you have just enough time to get to your gate and they are already boarding.

They should offer to relieve passengers of other excess bodily fluids before they board as well. Insane.

That would be fine if the airlines actually left on time, and never had the planes waiting on the tarmac. A person can only take so much.

I don't like using airline toilets anyway. I much prefer going before or after the flight. Usually the restrooms in most airports are decent. I concur with the 5 commenter.

I have always wondered why passengers on flights of less than three hours have to go to the bathroom and climb all over you and then climb all over you when returning. Just makes common sense kind of like telling your kid "go to the bathroom before we leave."

It doesn't sound like they close off the toilets from the article, just that they ask people to go before boarding. The picture is misleading.

This reminds me of my college days when I ran a car racing team. I came up with all sorts of tricks to save weight so we could redistribute the ballast for optimum balance and center of gravity. The other teams noticed that we used the tiniest female drivers we could find, but they never found out about the things we did to get rid of their excess water weight for race day -- or that they weren't wearing any pants.

Or holes in the seats...

Mind you, where it lands is something I don't want to know about...
