Health Overhaul Birth

As part of the Huffington Post's efforts to bear witness to the effects of the current economic environment on ordinary Americans, we're looking for untold stories from the current health care debate.

Huffington Post has already detailed horror stories and tales of courage from the current crisis, and HuffPost Impact is looking for more.

How have you been impacted by the state of America's health care system? What should everyone know before they make up their minds about the need for health care reform. We want to hear your stories.

E-mail us at impact@huffingtonpost.com and share them with us. We may write you back to request an interview and your story could be told on the front page of The Huffington Post.

The U.S. is in an economic crisis, and your stories are invaluable and putting this crisis on display to the world.

I travel to Iran once a year for medical checkups and medicines. A checkup costs $9.00 and a visit by the specialist costs $12.00. I purchase one year's supply of medicines for didabetes, highblood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and inhalers for astma, plus vitamines. The entire cost of medicines for two persons comes to about $500.00

Iran has one of the best medical systems, modern hospitals, great specialists and great hospitals (private ones). with over 80% of medicines are made in Iran at a small fraction of U.S. with exact same quality. We have cancelled our medicare coverages which did cost us about $170,00 a month(wonder how much it would cost now). A round-tript ricket from New York to Tehran is about $???? I bet a lot less than just medicines. And now, America brags being a "highly developed" country, listing Iran as "developing"? Check it out.

We have a family in Wwichita Kansas who lost their 15 year old son, Deontre Reed to Lung Cancer, wthish is directly attributable to his having had HPV as a baby. As a result of the HPV, his parents insurance company declared him as having a preexisting conditions. So not only did the family lose thier son, who the newspaper reports on this young high school football player said wasa good student and a very good citizen, but they have been left with large bills from his end of life treatment after the stage four cancer was diagnosed three months ago and now funeral expenses. If you wish to contribute to their fund, it is st up at the Deontre Reed Fund Medical Community Credit Union 1144 S. Clifton Ave. Wichita, Kansas. 67218
