Cantor, Hoyer To Discuss Health Care Policy

WASHINGTON — House Republican Whip Eric Cantor says he's going to sit down with Democratic leader Steny Hoyer and try to narrow their differences over health care.

Cantor said the notion of a public option to compete with private insurance plans has been "profoundly rejected by the American people." Interviewed on CBS's "The Early Show," the Virginia congressman said, "What I think would behoove all of us in this country would be to see if we in Congress could try to work together for a change."

Cantor also disputed an assertion by the Congressional Budget Office that the Senate Finance Committee's emerging plan would save $81 billion over 10 years, calling it a proposal to "rob Peter to pay Paul."

I've gotta hand it to them with regards to this whole protesting healthcare reform. I mean, they got old people out there who get socialized medicine through medicare protesting socialized medicine.

Thats pretty damn amazing when you think about it.

Hoyer's a real soft touch a blue dog except by title. Let Cantor debate Anthony Weiner or Alan Grayson, he'll run screaming from the hall.

What's the deal Cantor, you tired of being hated? You and your party is already buried in irrelevance having lost by more than 9,000,000 votes. Can you tell this is funny to me?

I guess if these clowns keep saying to themselves that the american people reject the public option then maybe they really believe this. These are people that for 8 years barely worked and just went along with whatever the Cheney/Bush white house wanted and they just signed. They are not used to listening to the american people.
I would love to know how these polls are taken because I have never been called to be polled. Also my god lets think about this. If 60% are for the public option and these are people who''ve been poled what does everyone that is down trotten and haven't been poled would say, do you think they are for a public option?

That blank look on his face in the thumbnail will be same one we'll see every time the debate returns to him for a GOP solution to healthcare.

Cantor talk abut health care rather than pandering to the base? That'll be a short conversation.

It's a toss up who repels me more to look at - Cantor or Boehner! There insincere smirks and holier than thou attitude. Neither one ever miss a photo-op. Who cares now that little Erwik talk to anyone about health care. His comments to a lady in a recent town hall meeting were enough to let me know how concerned he is about anybody'g health care. After all, he has his sweetheart deal, provided by government. Amazing how it's OK to be a socialist when it benefits you.

I can't imagine Cantor, or any Republican, having anything meaningful to add. I would just ignore them completely and pass the bill without them or their phony attempt at working out a bipartisan solution.

Steny Hoyer is a corporatist and a thief busted for stealing classified documents. He is a shill and a Democrat in name only. Do not trust this man ever.
