At last -- multitasking is going out of style. At least that is the conclusion of a University of Michigan professor who studied the subject and concluded that multitasking was counter-productive in math class. Personally, we're glad to hear it.

Saying you're good at multitasking is a euphemism for saying you have ADD. Every multitasker I've met never finished anything, but they made moderate progress on a bunch of tasks. Maybe if they learned to control their ADD and focus, they could actually complete a task.

Multitasking will never ever go away because -- employers have found out that they can get more out of one person than hiring several. As long as an employee demonstrates that they can type, chew gum, file, talk on the phone all at once, then MT will stay put.

After years and years of multitasking, it takes it's toll. Somewhere in your 50's, all of a sudden your brain doesn't want to function the way you're used to. Everything's confusing, complicated....taking instructions on anything makes you crazy because everything seems foreign....even the simplist of things.

Finding the right words takes longer and longer. You go into more rooms wondering why.

Maybe it's the toll of spending 35 years on the workforce under the stress of work, family, and just plain "no time for myself".

It's not even the 50s. It's the 30s. Ask a 30ish person how they feel about mutlitasking.
