It is unfortunate that people of both parties have become so extreme in their partisanship that they will not only accept the evil that their preferred party does but they will defend it. So obsessed have they become with "being right" that neither Republicans nor Democrats can look at either party's actions with honest appraisal. If they were to look honestly they would realize that both parties are THE SAME.

Obama and Bush are the same on foreign policy and economic policy. They are the same on monetary and domestic policy. It is bizarre to read posts that excoriate Bush but excuse Obama for the same actions.

Perhaps you think Iraq was a major difference. Not really. Obama is still every bit the foreign interventionist that Bush was. The troops are still in Iraq and will remain there for at least several years to come. Now he is expanding the war in Afghanistan, spreading it into Pakistan, and threatening war with Iran. These are the same policies. Iraq was a mere detail, since the geopolitical goal was to get the Muslim world fighting amongst itself, thus reducing the power of any one group.

Thank goodness that extreme partisans are irrelevant to elections and that they are fairly evenly divided between parties. They thus cancel each other out, leaving the Independents to decide elections. There was good reason for Independents to fire the Republicans. But Obama is following the same path as Bush, and Independent ire is great.

A Bush is always a political master. Abandoning a sinking ship is the right move. He'll be President yet... in 2025.

I'm sure Jeb will be attacked by the conservative base for this and he will probably apologize this weekend.

Breaking with the teachers union was the right the to do. The conservation are happy, at least with that political move.

What exactly are you talking about?

I hope all Huffpo readers go out there and rent/review Michael Moore's film, Farenheit 911. Well, maybe not those with high blood pressure. It will remind you of just what the Bush family stands for.

The former governor of Florida seems to be more proud of the current administrations attitude toward education than he was about his brothers selection of, the Secretary of Education, R. Page.

This same former governor, now also, wants to follow brother, George, into the White House?
Before that is even considered, Jeb, let us all know what what position you might offer to your other brother. Niel. - Niel Bush, of Savings and Loan ripoff fame. Silverado Savings and Loan, Denver, Colorado.

Many people lost their entire savings and retirements because of this scam and the 'Keating 5' were not the only bad guys.

"Keating 5" ? Wasn't John McCain the 6th member of that auspicious group?

FWIW

For an in-depth analysis of how Jeb cheated to help his brother get into office, read "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" by Greg Palast. It lays the entire out very plainly. Why these people aren't in prison is beyond me.

Here's another must-read: "How to Steal an Election: The Inside Story of How George Bush's Brother and FOX Network Miscalled the 2000 Election" By David Moore

and "How to Rig an Election: Confessions of a Republican Operative" by Allen Raymond- who actually spent time in prison for election fraud.

I am an independent living in Florida where Jeb Bush was governor. I have mixed feelings about this guy. On one hand he did an absolutely superb job in the wake of the hurricanes that destroyed this state in 2004 and 2005, in contrast to his brother, who did about the worst job possible after Katrina. Jeb also did a great job on education. The teacher's union hates it, but he has made teachers and schools accountable for their students' educations by instituting the annual FCAT tests, which has significantly lifted this state in the national standings.

On the other hand, his purging of the voter roles prior to the 2000 election allowed his brother to steal the presidency , when he almost certainly would have lost. Jeb's hand in the most egregious case of election fraud in American history has barely been noticed, and he should probably have gone to jail for it. For that alone I would never vote for him for any office, no matter how competent he is.

Bottom line: Jeb's the smartest Bush of the bunch, making him very dangerous indeed.

Oh yes, the massive fraud of Mickey Mouse and Goofy supposedly filling out voting registration applications. The part the regressives leave out, is that no Disney character actually made it to a voting booth. Racism at its very best. How dare an organization register minorities and the poor (eg. Democrats) to vote, and 'steal' elections from the old white guys who deserve to win? The horror!!

Don't wanna hear, see, sense any of the Boosh name anywhere again. Please don't name any more building, airport, highway, hospital, school library or Lie-brary and such with the name; it's stresses to the masses.

I would say that judging from the comments on the original article, adding to the awarding of the Nobel Peace prize, the followers on the right just aren't having a good day.

Perhaps but if you remember he was caught telling people shortly after Obama took office that the Republicans had to start an underground government to make sure Obama didn't accomplish anything. I find it hard to believe he suddenly got religion.
