In the course of reporting a story for this week's TIME magazine, which is about the White House's determination to take the fight to its critics, I came across a lot of sentiments like this quote about Fox News that I noted a couple days back. "They are the paid political programming for a party, and occasionally a couple of news stories break out in the midst of 23 hours and 45 minutes of political rantings and opinion," said one senior administration official. "Everything about it is one-sided political opinion directed at a base. Period."

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times".

Major Garrett has practiced 10,000 kicks once.

He has the education and the ability to be a super journalist, however, he has shown us that he will sell-out to FauxNews and its sensationalism format. All of his questions at new conferences are always loaded and designed to trick the subject.

He has a long way to go.

I don't respect Major Garrett. The only person I respect on Fox is Shepard Smith, because he actually asks difficult questions and acts like a journalist. Major Garrett threw his last hardball in little league.

Respect, yeah right. They just put up with Garrett. He's always going for the "gotcha" . Always trying to trip up Gibbs or the President. There is no respect.

For those who argue that FOX gets higher ratings, what you don't know is that FOX pays a premium price to be included in basic cable packages.

MSNBC does not and that is why subscribers must pay extra to get that station in some markets.

There are a lot of people in this country who have never seen MSNBC.

I myself am having a "feed" problem. MSNBC's feed is not strong enough for me to get the station at all times.

If I were a conspiracy nut, I would begin to think that it was being done intentionally.

As of this moment, I'm not ready to go there. Yet.

Oh, please.
You are repeating old news again and again.
If MSNBC would know for sure that buying to the basic cable make their rating higher and subsiquently brings more revenue from the advertisers, they would of done it in a heart bit.
MSNBC is just not that good and interesting.

If Major Garrett is such a "credible" journalist, why did he misrepresent the President's speech about Sotomayor when he reported immediately after the President's speech that "some wish the president had talked about Sotomayor's qualitfications.

Unfortunately, Fox viewers were never going to see the president address her qualifications in the very next sentence and paragraph because that part of the speech was cut off in collusion with Garrett's report.

Also, when the vice president of FOX says that their editorial/opinion reporting shows should not be confused with their "news" reporting, I would have to remind him that their "news" reporting was responsible for not only Garrett's reporting of the Sotomayor nomination, but also for cutting and splicing the President's Cairo speech to make it appear to FOX viewers that the President said just the opposite of what the rest of the world heard.

The effort then supports their criticism when they bring guests on to talk about the President's speech.

This is why so many who come here think that the President was on an "apology tour".

There is no doubt in Murdoch's mind that FOX is an arm of the GOP. He admitted it during a panel discussion covered by C-Span last year. His response when asked this very question was, "Look, I own it. I should be able to do what I want with it."

I would remind the vice president of that as well.

I don't watch Fox. But as I channel surf, I noticed that many of the females are blond. Is that just maybe the time of day that I surf? Second, I wonder if women sitting with their thighs crossed at the knees for hours at a time have or cause injury to their circulation. Why do the men on Fox & Friends sit with their laptops open and the female has to sit with no laptop and knees exposed. Is that to make the "news" sexy? Gain more male viewers?

Oh... you watch!! Yes you do!!

I find it very pleasant to start the day by looking at the gorgeous and smart blonde woman and clean cut man on TV.
All the channels are reporting pretty much the same news so why bother with annoying Matt or silly dressed Vieira, or look at Morning Jo and his bitchy partner? Fox is my choice in the morning and it has nothing to do with politics.

Major Garrett is a talented professional and a class act. I wish our country had more journalists of his caliber.

"Class act"? The prick couldn't even stand, not applaud and cheer, just stand when Helen Thomas was acknowledged on her birthday in the Press Room. Roger Ailes surely reminded him of his corporate obligations.

Not much of a class act if he couldn't even just stand up along with everyone else when Helen Thomas was honored in the WH Press Room. He didn't have to applaud, shower her with accolades, just stand for a woman who's been covering the WH for almost 50 yrs! Yeah, class act, by FOX News standards, I guess.

Anita Dun has,"a professional affinity for Major, since we are both alums of Mother Jones magazine."

Major rubs me the wrong way - IMHO he's every bit like everyone else in Murdoch's destroy America mind control programming.

Please WHAT A WHITE WASH, Major Garett is just as paid as the rest of them.

He has repeadetly tried to smear the administration in press conferences.

Everybody never forget, Time and CNN are the same companies, and attacking another media outlet, or asking tough questions of a conservative politician are taboo.
So they are to be commended i guess.
