USA Today:

Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, says the intraparty rift is overblown. He and others point to past criticisms of Democrats' proposals made by many of the same Republicans, and that there is agreement within the party to pass some sort of health care bill.

"The Democrats like to complain that Republicans don't have an 'alternative' bill," Stewart says. "We don't have a thousand-page, trillion-dollar bill that raises taxes, slashes Medicare and raises premiums -- they're right as rain about that."

You don't need any policy proposals if you are the party of "NO" to everything except what your lobbyist pals say yes to.

Senator McConnell's staffer apparently lacks a brain, which is not surprising given the uniform NO stances McConnell has taken. Kentucky --- Senator McConnell is past the age of retirement and past any usefulness in the Senate for most Americans. You know what to do!

For years and years, Republicans have been complaining "Government is too big!" Well, then why don't they just resign, refuse to take any more lobbying money and cancel all of those pork projects such as "bridges to nowhere' and opt out of retirement and medical health plans and just go back where they came from? There! our government has saved some money!
The only Republican I can remember who is not taking a salary, is Ahnold S. But then, "The Terminator" made a lot of bucks pretending to be an actor. :-) (Actually, he was funny in "Twins".
Peace!

We know they have no plan. Their plan is to do nothing, oppose anyone trying to get something done and attempt to get re-elected. The party of "government doesn't work" strives to prove it every day, and they wonder why the American people are fed up with them. Our elected officials are there to make government work for the American people, not to collect a paycheck and grandstand.

There are so many in Congress who should be tarred and feathered.

The Republican Party - proudly saying NO! to anything that makes sense. Truly, we should all collect donations to buy them a mirror. I don't think they have any idea how dumb they appear.

Republicans are trying to ease in and support health care. They all have realized that their seats are at stake.

It's hard to reverse yourself in a few days and get the base made at you. The GOP has been sucked into a big trap. a lot of them are going to have to eat their words.
