LOS ANGELES — Elizabeth Taylor is feeling fine after a heart procedure.

The 77-year-old actress says in a post on Twitter Thursday that the treatment "went off perfectly" and she feels like she has a "brand new ticker."

Earlier in the week, Taylor tweeted that she would be going into the hospital for the procedure and asked her 164,239 followers for their prayers.

"I know they all helped," she tweeted.

Yes, apparently she hasn't missed a beat.

Liz was one gorgeous, dark haired woman in her day. She's British but had more of the coloring of Italian or Greeks. From her stage parents, I now see why she had such a colorful life.

Between Liz & Michael Jackson's lives as childh entertainers, people who desperately want their children to be famous, should take a note out of their tortuous lives.

Too bad the plastic surgery didn't go as well. Am I the only one who finds it sad that we can't see how beautiful women (like Elizabeth Taylor or Jessica Lange or whoever) age naturally? They reach a certain age and suddenly their eyebrows are unnaturally high, or they're weirdly puffy, or their skin is stretched in ways so different from their original design that they look like a funhouse-mirror version of themselves. So sad.

Why bother to comment? The woman has just had heart surgery at the age of 77. It would have been nice if your comment had been more positive. I don't think you feel "sad" at all.

Elizabeth Taylor has never has plastic surgery. She had her picture on LIfe Magazine cover when she was bald in the hospital and she pointed out that there were no scars on her head from plastic surgery.

Lucky she's got the $ or health plan that probably covers this.

Get well.

So glad to hear things went well for you Mrs. Taylor. Thank you for all the work you have done in raising money for AIDS, and for being MJ's friend. Gob Bless You.

You should dream of looking as good at her age. Karma will get you in the end.

No, DinSea is right. She looks TERRIBLE. She looks like a melted Halloween mask with chicklets for teeth.

I would like to urge the family and staff of Ms. Taylor to celebrate this good news by hiring a makeup artist and stylist for the woman STAT. I don't usually notice such things, but since Ms. Taylor has been in a wheelchair (several years now), she is always caked with makeup and red lipstick; she also tends to be dressed in ridiculous/frumpy outfits. C'mon folks...this is ELIZABETH TAYLOR. Her final years should be lived with dignity...and with the same level of commitment to style and glamor that she has maintained for her entire life in the public eye. Her current handlers are damaging Ms. Taylor's legacy.

She's 77. Maybe she just wants to be comfortable and could care less.

I agree with Justin to a certain point but Elizabeth is such a BIG star that she just CAN do anything she wants to and we just have to love her the same way.
A woman who was the most beautiful Hollywood star for decades and who has given so much to lessen the suffering of so many of us deserves all the love in the world.
Blessed be Liz, blessed be the doctors who once again have made her survive and continue with us.

On behalf of all Elizabeth´s fans in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She was just given a new heart. How much more dignity do you want? Unbelievable.

I don't think their "people' tell them that. It's time for Oprah to cut back on all the make up on her face too. It might've been fine 15 yrs ago but many Hollywood women are looking overdone with make up these days. Also, Oprah's clothes are too tight. We shouldn't have to see every lump and bump since she's gained a lot of weight. She's beautiful and has a shape so cut back on the make up and wear clothes that appear to fit.

In a way, all the personal stories, the weight, the marriages, outshined the talent for awhile. But besides her stunning looks in her youth, this woman could act. The movies she made in the 50s and 60s like Place In the Sun, Giant, even Last Time I Saw Paris, were better movies because of her. And even better when she had a script based on the talent of someone like Tennessee Williams. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof sizzles because of her performance.

And she never really got recognized by film 'critics' for her work either as you say. Cat she is absolutely amazing in. Your right that the movies were better movies because of her. Ever seen Ash Wednesday which she is brilliant in as well. She carries that movie almost entirely on her shoulders and it succeeds beacuse she is in it. FYI-the long monologue that Taylor has at the end of Taming of the Shrew -almost the entire cast was in the scene filled with Shakespearean veterans. At the end of the scene the cast gave her a standing ovation she was that good and many of them thought she would fall flat on her face.

Never saw Ash Wednesday. I will have to rent it. Monty Clift and Shelley Winters were also great in A Place in the Sun, but Taylor was 17 and did a great performance for someone of any age. It's not that I'm a snob about movies, I like a good action thriller or even a gross out comedy, but I think most movies today are cliche ridden junk. There was also that element back then, but it seems like every other movie now is one long chase scene with stuff blowing up every three minutes.
