What's Your Reaction?
Limbaugh

The conservative lament over Barack Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize is quickly becoming a sight to behold. On his radio show just now, Rush Limbaugh went so far as to trumpet the fact that he is basically in agreement with the Taliban and Iran in thinking that the president was a "worldwide" joke.

"I think that everybody is laughing," Limbaugh said, in a segment picked up by Media Matters. "Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn't deserve the award. Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something that the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban."

The remark is almost comical in how deeply cynical and partisan it is. And it reflects the extent to which mockery and hatred of the president has come to dominate much of conservative media.

To express hilarity that you find yourself in agreement with the Taliban and Iran in lamenting your own president is the type of rhetorical dervish that usually damages careers -- though, in this case, Limbaugh's job seems safe.

There are legitimate debates about whether the president should have been given the Nobel Peace Prize. He himself acknowledged feeling undeserving of the award. But, in the end, Obama never asked for the honor and accepted it only behalf of the notion of American greatness. Limbaugh either missed these facts or is just willfully ignoring them.

Is it right to call this dog "Bo Obama"? A dog doesn't have a human family name! Dog naming follows specific rules, here they are:

Why is there a debate in America on why an American President won the nobel peace prize? Aren't the people proud of their country? My belief is Obama in 10 months has brought change as to the way the world see us. At least, he can travel abroad, without being arrested. There will not even be an outrage from the American people pertaining to the comment today from Rush. We may not have to worry about terrorist from other countries, just look at the way the American people are acting toward their own President.

RUSH says and I quote:

"Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn't deserve the award. Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something that the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban."

Listen up, Rush. NOT EVERYBODY is laughing as you state in the above quote. NOT ALL are in agreement with the Taliban. PLEASE DO NOT SPEAK FOR THOSE U.S. people who stand with our President in his acceptance of the Nobel Prize. It is a great honor for him to have been selected...I would say that YOU ARE PLAINLY JEALOUS !!!!!!

Limbaugh has been in agreement with the Taliban for years; nothing new there. They both hate America.

I totally dis-adree with Mr. Rush Limbaugh over the president recieving the Nobel Prize. The President Obama is not a joke over this world. He has inspired lots of folks all over this world that we can do better as the human race. We can have civil discussions without confrontations. He is spear heading downsizing nuclear weapons around the world. There is a strong effort by this president to solve conflicts in the middle east. To STOP Iran from getting nuclear weapons through negotiations and NOT confrontation. He has set foreign policy on a different course than the past administration. I believe on a winning course that will pay off in the future. The president has taken on our economic problem like a trooper fighting crime. Rush, I say you are a liar and there is no truth in your statement concerning the president. He, the president is giving us the kind of leadership, that will build the quality of respect that we use to have in the world .

I remember Bill Maher getting fired for a statement he made about Al-Qaeda. What line does, Pork-chop, have to cross before he gets a pink slip?

Hey Janey,

Quitting smoking is a tough one. I finally quit when I had the flu and could barely breathe, but there I was trying to light one up. It seemed like a good time to stop.
Good luck with it

Good for you - I quit cold turkey 8 years ago this week and it was the best thing I did. Go buy yourself some sugar free lollipops and when you feel the urge, pop one in and suck on it.

I have a shaved head so my family and friends nicknamed me Kojak.

Good luck with it and I hope you succeed in kicking it for good.

I think Lush and Glenda say things so many times that they actually believe in what they say. Lush probably wonders what all the fuss us about because he said he agrees with the Taliban and Iran. After all, he said it so it must be gospel.

Remember when the FDA pulled Zicam off the shelves? Well, they were one of his big advertisers and what did Lush do? He ranted and blamed the Democrats - said they were out to get him!!

Fruitcak? sure he is but he makes a lot of money and that is all he is interested in. Watch him on the today show on Monday; he says as much.
