The Most Annoying Songs Of All Time: Pick The Worst! (VIDEO)

A new poll declared "Whatever" the most annoying word in America this week, which sounded pretty interesting until we learned that it wasn't the most annoying word of all time but the most annoying out of 6 options: "whatever," "anyway," "you know," "it is what it is," "at the end of the day," and "unsure." ("At the end of the day" came in last with only 2% finding it annoying.)

Determined not to be outdone, we here at the Huffington Post decided to present to you our own "Most Annoying" lists, starting with songs. What do you think is the most annoying song of all time? We've started you out with a few that drive our editors insane -- vote on the worst and add your own!

I have to join in too. Most of these selections are REALLY GOOD records. Records being an independent work of art. Just overplayed. "I Will Survive" Overplayed. Frightfully out of tune. Annoying.

Celine Dion-Theme from Titanic. OMG I cannot stand her. But that is THE PERFECT RECORD. Makes me weep everytime.

The Chipmunk song was great! Should not be there. Otherwise, not a bad list, but bad songs will always be with us, and once heard, you usually can't get them out of your head.

This topic is essentially flawed. The annoyance isn't in the song. The annoyance is in the listener, and generated by the listener's tastes, which are typically the result of coincidental occurences.

There's a musical instrument my sister hates, and it turns out the sound of it reminds her of an incident she hates to be reminded of. People who work with songs all the time have different reasons for being annoyed by one song or another.

Sometimes the song annoys by its relentless presentation in public to the unsuspecting listener. A lot of what's annoying among the candidates here ist hat we're reminded of how much we hated hearing them, even though we don't really hear them any more. When was the last time somebody put "Having My Baby" in front of you? (That song earns its place in this poll by lacking tact.)

It's important, too, to know that sometimes what's annoying about the song is the way it's performed - it is possible to create perfectly lovely renditions of hated tunes,.
