Obama's very election as President being the first black to become POTUS merits this prize.

TopDog wonders why the color of someone's skin would qualify them for a Nobel prize? The color of your skin requires no skill, talent or effort.

You really don't get it. Do you?

It's not the color of his skin that qualifies him. It's the American people that Obama was able to inspire us the elect him, as a Black man.

Laura Bush said that many heads of state around the world thought that we would never elect a person of color to the highest office in the land, and that his election was good for our democracy. It showed our democracy in action, actually working, not just our lip service. Our past presidents were not only all White men, but many were wealthy, like George Bush 1 and 2.

In his acceptance speech, Obama said that to anyone that doubted that our democracy works or that the dream of the founders was still alive in out time, "Tonight is your answer".

Our President was nominated for the Noble Peace Prize for his inspiration Presidential Campaign....Just like a person nominated for the Heisman Trophy, you judge them by what they did to get nominated not by what they did afterward...and Barack Obama's work as President has only just begun....Our President hasn't even completed his first year in office....but yet and still SNL grades him as if he has completed his four years in office....How about grading the Republicans on what they have done so far on behalf of the American people; how about asking the Republicans what it is that they plan on doing for the American people, and a better question is, do the Republicans actually have a plan?

The Republicans have been trumpteing that Reagan single-handedly "tore down the Berlin wall" with a scripted speech for almost 20 years. They alone bestowed the honor of peacemaker to their hired actor, not the world community. So it's completely in their character, as hypocrites, to denigrate the President for inspiring the world throughout his campaign and into his Presidency. I'm proud that The President of the United States of America has been so honored by the rest of the world. Republicans, why do you hate America?

When the Barack comes marching home again, hurrah, hurrah,
We'll give him a hearty welcome then, hurrah, hurrah
Me men will cheer the boys will shout
The GOP will sulk and pout
And we'll all be gay
When Barack comes marching home. . .

Part 2 of 2

All other nations see these dynamics, while in every speech President Obama takes the time to educate the public and explain detail what he is doing, empowering us to carry the fight and educating us to the realities of multiple imminent global disaster posed by corporate opposition who control 75% of our Congress through bribes. The international effect of his example, is without equal - Regardless of the success of the Oligarchy brain washing the naive public against him (and their own interests) that we the people voted to acheive. He is speaking truth to power through our actions, despite continuous opposition of the corporate media and power structure.

There is a non-violent revolution occurring as a result of all the above. It is leading to the elimination of the corporate and banking oligarchy, that owns our federal Reserve and controls our Democracy. This year, this man, and our participation passing our legislation (Clean Energy Jobs / U.S. self sufficiency, Meaningful Health Care Reform, Equal Rights at work, Education) are the last chance to save our country and planet. If it fails, our income will be irrelevant.

Obama OPPOSES health care justice (Medicare For All HR676, S.703) OPPOSES the Employment Free Choice Act, is in the process of destroying the u.s educational system along with his basketball buddy, Arne Duncan (whose experience prior to destroying the Chicago school system was as a player in the NBA) through the cancerous spread of charter schools, leads & has lead legislative action rewarding the wall st. criminals for destroying the still-collapsing global economy, rewarding the health care and pharmaceutical rackets for making health care inaccessible in the u.s., rewarding the oil, coal, and nuclear crime syndicates (who, along with the health care and pharmaceutical rackets and wall st. contributed heavily to his presidential campaign) with "climate legislation" that further enriches them & continues to destroy the environment, and continues or strengthen capitalist globalization "agreements" such as NAFTA that continue to eliminate u.s. jobs. There will be no justice in the u.s. or throughout much of the planet until you Obama operatives stop lying for him, apologizing for him, and cheerleading for him, & start MAKING him do what you claim you elected him to do!

You seem to be living on another planet. The nominations closed for those being proposed for this award in early February. The committee said that he inspired the world to hope for peaceful cooperation in international relations and that everything Obama says and stands for is everything that the Nobel has been trying to promote for over a hundred years. The whole world woke up and listened and his vision was shared with millions all over the globe. The committee said that he was the world's number one spokesperson for diplomacy and that he fosters listening to and respecting all peoples and they specifically referred to his outreach to the Muslim world in the Cairo speech and in other ways. If you take the time to listen to the committee's reasons for awarding this honor to Barack Obama, it makes good sense. But it won't matter to you, my friend, because you're locked in the lies and half truths that have been put forth by the likes of Fox News. One could almost feel sorry for you. Almost.

Part one of two - Very Sad that the world sees this and we can't, they also see with the same clarity, our ridiculous debate over universal health care that's twice as cheap and serves everyone, but stalled and objected by a corrupt congress. They see the oligarchy controlling our government and deliberately trying to "break him" and the will of the American people who they oppose with billions in spending and bribes. Yes they see, while the media vacuum that, regardless of a few token shows that represent the truth, is wholly owned by the oil, gas, Big pharma, insurance, and banking cartels that control it's message against the President and us. They see the 400% increase in death threats from legalized racism (KKK tax exempt as of June 2006). But the final whammy is, that in the midst of all that opposition, President Obama implemented 100 foreign policy achievements during his 1st 100 days - major progress in working with world leaders, stalled the depression, found a universal dialog serves as an action base for improved relations, new trade, environmental protection, technology, and self sufficiency. (end of part one)

Repub reaction goes beyond what we call loyal opposition in a democracy. When you ar ein the same boat with Hamas and the Taliban this makes you a traitor to the great flag of the U´nited States of America. those who do not stand unwaveringly and unquestionably behind the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the greatest country on the planet earth must be charged wiht high treason, and if convicted by a jury of twelve good Americans must reckon with the death penalty. Punisahment must be swift, just and severe.

I learned this a long time ago, when your enemy is spending all their time gunning after you, you must be doing something good. I think what we're seeing here is a party (Republican) that is playing defense...Obama's offense has kept them on the field too long. They are tired, they have no play in the play book, so they're going to the Flee-Flicker, the hail-mary an nothing is working...so what do you do, pick a fight, take the focus off A-- whipping you're getting so everyone can see how bad you really are. What the Republicans are failing to see, is that the country and the world are looking at them and realizing they have nothing to offer...very sad.

I'll offer up a prayer.

Dear God,
Please help the Republicans deal with this butt-whuppin they're receiving and will continue to receive as they sing the same song over and over again.

In Jesus Name.

Amen

Well, I have to say this is a first. The Republicans and the Taliban are in total agreement. How pathetic is that?

Congratulations Mr. President. Whether you accept it or not, it shows that you have restored the world's faith in America to lead. I am proud to be an American today.

To the news media, be a little patriotic and proud, please, or at least just report the facts without comment.

Like the Nobel prize committee said, the world view of peace, environmental activism, etc all shifted when Obama was elected--if the U.S. leads the way, there is hope in all those areas. So give the guy some credit. It would be nice if everyone stopped sniping at him and each other for a minute and notice that things are different: he's already made the changes he could make, like stem cell research and getting politics out of the NIH. And how many conversations did we have about civility when Bush was president, when civility just meant who could shout louder?
