Frank Rich Mccain

New York Times:

THOSE of us who love F. Scott Fitzgerald must acknowledge that he did get one big thing wrong. There are second acts in American lives. (Just ask Marion Barry, or William Shatner.) The real question is whether everyone deserves a second act. Perhaps the most surreal aspect of our great Afghanistan debate is the Beltway credence given to the ravings of the unrepentant blunderers who dug us into this hole in the first place.

What fascinates me is that NONE of the people who interview any of the "amigos" brings this history up to them, they act as if these guys were dropping pearls of wisdom- i can see fox doing it, since they are in the republican pocket, but why don't the other networks confront them

Paraphrasing Rumsfeld; If you can't cement the base with the war you want, cement the base with the war you have.

Excellent article, Mr. Rich.

You have an absolute talent for dousing the heated rhetoric with a deluge of cold facts.

McCain is always willing to appear on television. Why do the stations allow this Bozo to keep coming on? Is he good for ratings? His personal history is one long string of failures that have been glamorized.

The Republicans tried the Neo-con thing and that did not work out to well.
Now they are trying the Nono-con thing. Lets see how that works out.

TIME TO TRAIN LIKE CRAZY!

$250,000/year for a US Troop vs. $2,000/Year for an Afghan Troop

So 125 times more troops with training Afghans versus 1 US Troop!

Plus the Afghan Troops will live and stay there!

What is so HARD to understand - Train BABY Train!

As soon as we train a couple hundred thousand Afghan Troops them we leave!

At two months per class of 10,000 troops we should be done in less than FOUR YEARS!

During the campaign, McCain said he knew how to get Osama bin Laden.

Why don't you pass on that knowledge to Gen McChrystal, Sen McCain? After all, the Americans went to Afghanistan, not to prop up a corrupt regime, but to hunt down Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda gang of terrorists.

Once bin Laden and his gang of terrorists are bagged, mission in Afghanistan would be accomplished. You then won't need 40,000 more Americans to march into that death trap, Senator!

Another excellent article by Mr. Rich. He mention every thing I would have said, except for the part where Mr. McCain said he knew where bin Laden was and how he would get him if we made him President. Mr. McCain and Liebermann need to go home and be quiet.

In other words, WILL THE 3 AMIGOS PLEASE SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN! You guys lost the 2008 election; what don't you understand, the "YOU" or the "LOST"?

And WHY is Lieberman still chairing a Democratic committee? He needs to be stripped of the chairmanship just like Baucus needs to be stripped of his. Neither one of these guys are representing the Democratic Party! Lieberman is in love with McCain just like Lindsay is and Baucus is a closet GOPer. Time to come out of the closet and be honest about where your loyalties lie.
