Pelosi

Wall Street Journal:

WASHINGTON -- Republicans are stepping up attacks on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, deciding that a major part of their 2010 electoral strategy will be linking Democratic candidates to her.

The approach emerged last week when the National Republican Congressional Committee, the campaign arm of House Republicans, issued a statement saying it hopes Gen. Stanley McChrystal, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, puts Ms. Pelosi "in her place" on Afghan policy.

Good. Now maybe we Democrats can get a real leader to be speaker. Let's dump that Mormon pinhead Harry Reid while we are at it.

the biggest knock I have against Nancy Pelosi is that she took impeachment off the table when the real criminals were in the white house.Anyone who inspires such venom on the right ,such as President Obama and Speaker Pelosi have,MUST be good for America

If you did a poll about Nancy Pelosi, she'd get high negatives.

If you polled people as to who the Speaker of the House is, most wouldn't know.

Again, Republicans require ignorance.

Nancy Pelosi attacks will only appeal to the crazy base. Not the best strategy GOP.

Seems like the only female role model republican men go in for is the dumb one they can fantasize about going to bed with. A strong, intelligent woman is a definite threat to them.
As for republican women, they just fantasize about being that dumb object of desire.

This just goes to show that the GOP is completely bankrupt of ideas. Nothing substantive to help get the country out of this economic mess they created. It will be yet another failed strategy used in 2006, and 2008. Will the GOP ever get it...NOPE.

Is it just me or shouldn't the "key to the gops 2010 playbook" be some kind of policies and ideas to strengthen America instead of just attacking name calling and l ying about the Speaker of the House?

You're absolutely right, but that's not how they play politics. Right now, it's 'drive up the negatives" season for them. They'll roll out the bright ideas closer to the mid-terms. Trust me.

I admire Nancy Pelosi and think her strong presence scares the republicans. Whenever the republicans attack, that usually means they are afraid of that person. Republicans are digging their own graves and soon they'll have to buy their coffins. Since republicans have been worthless this entire year, they might as well lay in their coffins and be buried.

They're going after her because her negatives poll high. They can't get alot of traction attacking Obama, so she's the logical target. They always go after whoever is polling high negative.

Preaching to the choir indeed! I don't like Nancy Pelosi either, but I sure as heck will not vote in a republican in office just because of that. They must think we are st upid.

I love it when the WSJ posts numbers comparing Right to Left. "In a recent Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll, 44% of respondents had negative feelings about Ms. Pelosi and 27% had positive ones, with the remaining 29% either neutral or not sure. Among independents, 53% viewed her negatively and just 20% positively."

And Bush and Cheney's numbers were......... when they left office.

Therein lies the problem. Instead of the right figuring out how to win voters to their side, they've spent nearly 10 months offering nothing but h@te, criticism and NO.

Do they think we're s.tupid? They have earned anything but more losses in the House/Senate.

The GOP is preaching to the choir. They will not attract new voters. They will only lose more of their own. Especially the moderate ones.

When the GOP targets a Democrat and tries to take him or her down, it means they are afraid of this Democratic powerhouse - an obstacle to their agenda.

It would be the worst mistake strategically speaking if the Democrats allowed the GOP to lynch one of their strongest leaders. This is no time to stick their tails between their legs and back away from the GOP's target of attack. In this case Nancy Pelosi.

The GOP is afraid of Nancy Pelosi!
