Can someone tell my why I am not entitled to these extended benefits for the simple fact that, I did not lose my job until mid. Jan. 09? Hasn't the job market gotten worse?
I don't understand this.

The worst part is that those who lose their benefits will no longer be counted among the unemployed and we'll hear that the state's unemployment outlook is improving. If people worked all their lives and are now unemployed, then they should receive unemployment for as long as necessary. To now have to apply for welfare and food stamps isn't going to get people back to work any sooner, and the burden on the states isn't going to be relieved, it's just going to be shifted.
