Dave Letterman's Tom Hanks Button, REVEALED (VIDEO)

Tom Hanks

An unannounced Tom Hanks came running onto David Letterman's stage Tuesday night at the touch of a button, leaping over the back of and into the guest chair

After his monologue, Letterman pointed out a small red button on his desk and started flicking it. Seconds later, Hanks sprinted on the stage.

The red switch is a "Tom button."

"I heard the signal, I came a-running," Hanks told Letterman. "I was at a really important fund raiser in Cleveland, please don't press it again unless it's a real emergency."

He left the stage to applause, Dave pushed the button again, and the Hanks sprint, chair leap and confusion happened all over again.

Hilarious! I don't know who's funnier - Hanks or Letterman.

This reminds me of Conan's "Walker Texas Ranger" lever. He would pull the lever and some crazy scene from Walker Texas Ranger would play. It was hillarious.

Does Tom Hanks actually think he's funny? snicker...

I really like Tom Hanks, but this was so stupid (right up there with 'Will It Float?') that I changed the channel.
NOT 'brilliant' (too often used with Dave); more like 'jumping the shark'.

Tom Hanks, Brendan Fraser, Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman. Would love to see this group in a movie. Add Amy Adams. Why not!? Where's that red button when you need it?

Not bad for an old guy. Tom leaps over short chairs like a man in his 50's. Funny bit

STOP BENDING THE SHAFTS!

If you don't think Tom Hanks is funny google his bit on the last Late Night he did with Letterman.

I think some spouses and all parents could use a device like that.
