Oprah, Larry King In Reported "Booking War" Over Marcus Schrenker

Larry King and Oprah are reportedly in a booking war over Marcus Schrenker, the Indiana money manager who faked his own death earlier this year.

"NBC's Dateline profiled his story in May but now it appears that Larry King and Oprah Winfrey are trying to book Schrenker," reports Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR.

Of course, it's not King and Winfrey themselves going after the exclusive, but producers/bookers on their staffs. Oprah recently told "The Insider" that she doesn't really care about "getting interviews first and all that stuff," but that she is very interested in sitting down with Jaycee Dugard.

My money is on Oprah. She is twice the interviewer that Larry King is. Besides that, I think all Progressives should boycott CNN.

Oprah is a far better interviewer. larry king constantly interupts his guests and usually just as they are starting to say something we want to hear, that mumbling old fool interrupts it.

And it's true. If O gets it, fine. If not, fine. I've never seen her go to war with anyone who wants to do another show. It's really not worth it.

Years ago the woman who married the priest and was excommunicated, was suppose to appear on O. The woman charged up hotel expenses and her appearance was cancelled. That would've been a great story to hear too.

Wouldn't it be more fun if "booking war" meant the two of them kept lobbing copies of their books at each other? Of course, the cost of protective helmets would mean lots of product placement stickers over them, which means a higher cost for us consumers because using profits to promote or even re-invest in the company is immoral in "the new normal"...

You do realize that Oprah is one of the most rich and powerful women in the US and indeed the world right? She has amassed a media and business empire that rivals any other on the planet. You can hate her because of whatever reason, but saying she is beyond useless when she is wildly popular and powerful is pretty dumb.
