Stanup Economist

Yoram Bauman (no relation), who calls himself "the world's first and only stand-up economist," has penned an open letter to Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee. (Goolsbee did some stand-up comedy himself earlier this month.):

For those of us monetary reformers that are working on the most important economic-related issue in society today, calling anything economic from the Obama administration 'public' is taking the public name in vain.
Goolsbee, a great comedy name, and Summers and Rubin and the rest are as 'private' as they come.

The public option in monetary reform would take us back to the debates of '33 and '34 over the Chicago Plan for Monetary Reform versus the Glass-Steagall II reforms that are presently inactive.

It's OUR money system.
