I'm not that cynical; perhaps if the couple stays in New York and doesn't move to L.A. the marriage could work out for them.

What kind of a guy spends that much money on an engagement ring on a woman he has known for less than a year? It reminds me of the Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck courtship. That didn't last either. It was all about the material possessions and the publicity. This is no different.

Dammit! I was hoping to marry her someday. Her previous boyfriend on the show was a joke.

She's a Queen dammit and deserves to be treated like one. Whenever this guy leaves or cheats on you Bethenny just come looking for me on here.

How can someone be a "housewife" if she's not even married?

The "Real Housewives" title stumps me. It appears to me they they are filled with more plastic, silicone and chemicals than a plastic surgeons receptionist.

and honestly......Housewives? If you want Housewives go to Ohio... these ladies are just High Maintenance, Used Up, "Dusty" Trophy Wives.

I'm very confused. If the show is called "Real Housewives" and she is newly engaged, does that make her a Polygamist?

Again, remember, this is the entertainment section. You want to talk about credit default swaps or convertible debentures? Try the business section.

Now, having said that, this fellow, if he expects his intimate life with this woman to be fulfilling, had better invest in ear plugs.

I know nothing about the lady. But ear plugs are a good investment for any prospective husband.

just because its the entertainment section doesn't mean it has to be dumbed down as much as it is.

its like reading US magazine.

there are more important issues in the entertainment industry than this dried up slunk meat getting engaged

Care to give an example of what is more pressing in the ENTERTAINMENT industry than the entertaining marriage of an entertainer?

All these "Housewife" shows on Bravo are a takeoff on the fictional "Desperate Housewives," as far as the name goes. Even in the first of the shows, "Real Housewives of Orange Counties," none of them were house wives.

As far as the entertainment news on HP, I appreciate it. This sort of thing is a hobby of mine, and my previous option was unmoderated newsnet. Celebrity news Newsnet posts were 99.999% racist rants against Obama and conspiracy theories for the last year and a half. While I'm not some sad sack who lives her life through what goes on in Hollywood, it is an interest I have. I don't think it's necessary to be so hard on people who like to relax and peruse the entertainment section. I don't go on the political boards and tell those people to get a life.

I agree with you Rivergirl, we can do without the posts on how beneath this type of news is to the greater readership. Sometimes, I just need to escape in a little celebrity gossip...we got enough serious news to go around the world three times over.

actually, i think it's sorta of a take off on THE O.C. not desperate housewives, and i thinksome of the orange county cast was married originally...

i am with you on this i happen to like and watch all the Housewives, in it's various incarnations and locations..just entertaining..(nothing more, nothing less) IMO

Sad when marriage turns into a publicity stunt. These people are living in a fantasy world. And I could probably finance the next ten years of my life with that stupid ring! Time to wake up!
