Sasha and Malia Obama aren't the first first daughters to pass their time in the public eye.

You remember Chelsea Clinton and Barbara and Jenna Bush. But what about Helen Taft or Lynda Bird Johnson? Peruse our photo album of America's Pennsylvania Avenue princesses, and tell us which family you'd like to be adopted into and whose you could do without.

William Howard Taft and his daughter Helen Taft circa 1914.

One glaring omission among the photos of presidential daughters is Alice Roosevelt Longworth, a daughter of Theofore Roosevelt.and a great beauty.

Imagine if McCain had won, his daughter's photo would be shown worldwide. If you thought the country was looked down up before, imagine how THATm would have gone over. Like having the Beverly Hillbillies in the WH, only with a lot less :class"!!

Who cares about the current kids in the WH? If they were so smart, they'd tell their father to stop spending their generation's money.

They are very smart and also are part of a very close-knit family. I love that their grandmother has been included in that family. They seem well-adjusted and are quite beautiful young ladies. I do wish the media would give them some space though.

You've got a head full of hatred for everything Obama, don't you? Including his children. Must be a rather miserable state of mind.

Funny a recent poll done on conservative republicans show they aren't racists (ha). This poll was done by Carvells group (I didn't know they did polling). The one thing that he said that poll showed over and over. They are truly afraid that Obama is making this country a socialist country. There hate for Obama is stronger than the democrats hate for Bush. I find that to be true. I never hated Bush, I was happy he was out of office and back to TX. He did allot of damage to this country that Obama is getting blamed for by republicans. That isn't fair. They aren't giving him any chances. Thursday or Weds. Matthews had a teabagger on his show. They seem to forget what Bush left Obama with. He said we should cut back on government speeding and give tax breaks to companies. You know the same stuff that didn't work under the republicans.

Leave the kids alone.

I agree there. The kids didn't ask for the attention.

The President and his family have one thing that we don't have in america.....CIVILIZE..They just don't attack people because they don't agree with them!!!!!They honor and treat people the same way as you would be treated in the same civilize manner.
God bless our President Bam.
There are too many sick puppies in America, like limbaugh, becks, and so on(ex pres.bush sr.says so).
This is just an understatement. We voted for Pres.Bam,so treat him with RESPECT for crying out loud.
Yes I know that there is no royalty in America but at least in Europe they just don't attack in a raw, bold, uncivilized, ugly, unrespectful.no class manner.........
BAM IS THE WORLD....The NOBEL AWARD......has class too.BRAVO.

"but at least in Europe they just don't attack in a raw, bold,u ncivilized ,ugly, unre spectful.n o class manner"

Boy, is that untrue. On the internet I saw a Spanish newspaper cartoon of Spanish royalty that was completely obscene.

"Bam" is not the world. No president is.

Your right. Plus americans got the wake up call with Bush for our president. He was the person who destroyed america's honor by attacking a country that had nothing to do with attacking america.

I'm reminded at the time Trish Nixon's engagement inspired the sitcom "Bridget loves Bernie" in 1972. Lasted for 24 epsodes.

I never knew that although I do remember "Bridget Loves Bernie." The lead actors married in real life but their marriage didn't last. Has Trish's?

OMG OMG OMG.............rethugs are having a fit over giving BO a birthday party. HOW MUCH MONEY did it cost ME, a taxpayer, to keep the Bush girls and the Ford girl in sight of the Secret Service?!?!!? One of the Bush girls, can't remember their god awful names, prefer to forget about them, PERIOD, admitted that she tried to escape them all the time and so did the Ford girl.

Now, SOMEBODY please tell ME..........which costs more, a birthday party for BO or Secret Service having to hunt for little immature girls to drink...at least with the Bush girls, it was booze.

Good lord, complaining about a $25.00 IF THAT, birthday party. PLEEEEEEASE go to Texas and have your own country!!!!

No they weren't. Their drunken hijinks should have embarrased their parents, but probably didn't because they were so much like dad. They have turned out all right, it seems. I think they and Laura are secret democrats.

And Olbermann will start yelling and Maddow will start to make funny faces. What's your point?

The point is that Beck is stupid, and Oliberman and Maddow are intelligent.

Princesses?
That implies royalty and in the USA we do not have royalty (as much as some of you would like to make him King.)

Pol's children do not a a average life. Family always in the public eye and press. Carter was nuts to think his daughter could go to public school as if her dad was an average guy.

The ability of the kids to adapt to the public and eye always amazed me.

No matter what party the President is someone is always calling him names and he is upsetting someone.
