Telegraph:

The [African elephant] population - currently 600,000 - is diminishing by 38,000 each year. These figures, calculated using the annual number of illegal tusk seizures, significantly exceed elephant birth rates meaning the species could face extinction entirely within 15 years, says Samuel Wasser of the Scientific American Journal.

Just add them to the list along with the tigers, polar bears, lions, etc. Personally, I wish mankind was on the list, but no such luck.

This is a story of sorrow. A world without elephants!!?? How tragic! One of the first animals a child learns to love. They are truly wonderful creatures.

the selfishness and sick cynisism in humanism has taken away the most beautiful things mother earth has produced. we will wake up one day and these incredible creatures will be gone. We will then be left with disimal amounts of wildlife and only an overwelhming amount of arrogant, snide, and self centerness.

These elephants have been using up more than their allotted amount of resources for years.

They’ll have to go or pay climate reparations.

They don’t contribute and under the green definition of “utilitarianism” are worthless.

I heard it was 15 days. No, 15 hours. No, 15 minutes.

Who cares? They've had their 15 minutes.

Is that a valid reason not to care what things will look like in 15 years?
