There are some police -- and it happens EVERYWHERE -- who are too lazy or unskilled to actually investigate a murder, and so they will grab some poor kid with a bit of a bad reputation or a foreigner or someone else that the establishment can believe guilty and then bully that person and their colleagues into "confessions."

There have been at least 5 highly publicized cases in Canada where DNA evidence cleared a prisoner or witnesses who had never been properly interviewed came forward and made a fuss.

I just do not understand how police and prosecutors can care more for their arrest and conviction records than for truth and justice. But when police coerce fake testimony and prosecutors refuse to consider exculpatory evidence, I think they should have to do the jail time themselves.

And on a different, but related topic, Rick Perry (Governor, TX) should be in jail right now.
