I think you're on to something.

The more I read about this group, the more incrudulous it is to me how anyone can believe this malarky. I've lost respect for Cruise, even as an actor. Haven't made a conscious decision not to see his movies but I never seem to get around to see them the last few years. My sympathies lie with Katie, a fairly young woman who appears somewhat sucked in to this mess.

I can't watch his movies any longer. I used to think maybe he didn't know about the physical abuse perpetrated by his BFF David Miscavige, but I just can't believe he could be so blind. He may not know about all the slave labor, the forced abortions, the pedophilia, the stark violent beatings... but he has to know something ain't right.

I don't really see how what the scientologists "believe" is any more far fetched than the fables christians accept as facts. The whole xenu story isn't any sillier than Space Ghost and the Jewish Zombie.... Their customs are no more cult-like than christain religious ceremonies. I guess even the most absurd stories start to seem normal if enough people around you believe they are true. I always see those bumper stickers that say "my god is an awesome god", I think a better adjective to use in that statement would be "incredible".... maybe even "unbelievable". ;)

Secret? Really? Four thousand attendees? What the heck was the HuffPost intern who came up with the headline channeling? Perhaps the Super Secret Word Quiddich Match Held on a Remote Moor in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? Did the Scientologist CEO's deploy anti-Scientologist technology to keep the party secret and Those-Who-­Contribute­-Greatly from being identified? My guess is that Tom had one of his mercenaries, perhaps his sister, plant the story to keep, Tom Terrific (whose career has been tanking since jumping, athletically onto Oprah's couch) in the news.

What I never understand about him is everytime you see him interviewed or hear his comments about people who aren't scientologists, he's so ANGRY. Like borderline rage.

Why is that? Isn't a big part of the sci. teachings control?

I wouldn't want to belong to a church that kept me in a near constant state of rage.
