Odd Homes

AOL:

Oddball properties dot neighborhoods across the country--castle-like structures and homes built from lighthouses and bamboo. From a "residential community at sea," to a "floating" California home that includes a Batcave-like elevator for your car, homeowners have dreamed up some wild residences. And now, they have to sell them.

The house on the volcano looks fit for Bond Villian. If I buy it I would have to get a white cat, that always sits on my lap.

Me and a friend of mine were discussing our dream homes over a few beers...ok...it was more than a few...and we came up with the idea of building a home in an old water tower, make it look like a UFO, and have a fake rocket on a launch pad with scorch marks...just because it would look cool.

But that house in the pic...I couldn't live there...no trees...no water....no nothin but bakin sun and dry winds...no thanks.

Earthquakes, fires, mudslides, etc. begs the question as to why ppl. continue to build multi-million dollar homes in these areas. I know the weather is wonderful, but I will take the grey skies over the mid-atlantic, with our four seasons, any day over this uncertainty.

Having been in numerous earthquakes and witnessed multiple landslides in Laguna, you could not pay me to even have dinner in the Laguna House listed at over 11mil.

When you build on top of a mountain...

you kill the mountain.

That Volcano House looks like the place where Mandrake the Magician lives.

It's too bad that the mountain under the house is now dead.
